    Job Description BendTec, LLC has an exciting opportunity available for a Material Handler to be an integral part of our Fabrication team. WHAT YOU'LL DO: Comply and ensure compliance with safety and environmental guidelines and regulations. Confirm accuracy of material being pulled and delivered to production bays. Assist in the development of relevant processes and procedures. Address material shorts as requested. Assist with material reconciliations at job closeouts as requested. Safely operate any manual handling equipment required to perform responsibilities. Use proper stacking and pulling processes. Safely utilize ramp to load and unload materials. Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor. Assist in the preparation of materials to be processed. Assist in the development of relevant processes and procedures. Safely utilize overhead cranes to handle spool piping, and to load and unload materials. Ability to perform tasks such as sanding and paint application by brush or roll. Work also includes operation of the machine and a crane to move pipe in and out of machine. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Identify fabrication requirements written on each piece of pipe (5%) * Place pipe in machine, center the pipe, and tighten for work. After the pipe is in place, the operator will machine tapered threads into the pipe. During this process, the machine operator is responsible for verifying measurements, such as thread depth and correct taper (30%) * After the threads are cut the operator tests the flange to make sure it screws onto the pipe properly. Adjustments are made to the threads if an issue occurs (10%) * Applies glue on pipe and flange and uses the machine to tighten the flange onto the pipe (20%) * Runs the cutting tool across the surface of the face of the flange to flush fit the flange onto the pipe (30%) * Remove pipe from machine and place on boards (5%) * Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * Good with math, able to read a tape measure and micrometer * Ability to understand machinery processes * Consistent attendance, ability to get to work on time, every day * Team player, willingness to work when needed, help out and volunteer for extras * Positive, enthusiastic and helpful Qualifications: * High school diploma or equivalent desired * Previous experience with machinery is desired * Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: * Since this is a heavy industrial environment there will be exposure to Fabrication Shop operations. Blasters are responsible to accomplish assigned tasks in a safe and efficient manner. Reports primarily to the Plant Manager, and indirectly to the Production Supervisor. Blasting employees may be assigned to any of the following job functions: WHAT YOU'LL DO: Material Handling: Rigging, loading, unloading, stabilizing and transporting material. Surface Preparation: Using steel grit to clean the pipe for QC checks, create a blast profile that is acceptable for surface coating (adhering to SSPC or NACE specifications). Conduct daily equipment checks (blotter tests, oil checks). Blast booth general maintenance (lighting, grit cleanouts, floor cleanup). Conduct work assigned in a safe and efficient manner. Produce quality product as required by customer specifications and regulation requirements. Inspect quality of product as processed through assigned operation. Maintain work area housekeeping. Record all required documentation thoroughly and accurately. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. Machinist may be assigned to any of the following job functions: Produces machined parts by programming, setting up and operating a Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies. CNC OPERATOR I: Essential Functions 0-1 Years of CNC experience. Operate saws, lathes, mills, basic grinding, lapping, cleaning, deburring or other simple, routine operations. Follow written and verbal procedures as assigned. Read and interpret work order routings, prints, sketches and tool sheets as required. Must be able to recognize and understand machine functions as required. Knowledge of working with a variety of materials is required. Inspect work using micrometer, bore gage, Vernier, calipers or other measuring precision instruments. Set up and operate a variety of manual machines to perform simple to basic operations. CNC OPERATOR II: Essential Functions 1-3 years of experience. Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and venire calipers. Machine parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers or grinders. Measure, examine and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications using precision instruments such as micrometers. Set up, adjust and operate all the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools to perform precision machining operations. Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials onto machines. Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process. Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings and engineering information to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate products and determine product dimensions and tolerances. Select the appropriate tools, machines and materials to be used in preparation of machinery work. Lay out, measure and mark metal stock to display placement of cuts. Observe and listen to operating machines or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions and to determine need for adjustments or repairs. Check work pieces to ensure they are properly lubricated and cooled. Maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout and machining procedures. Position and fasten work pieces. Operate equipment to verify operational efficiency. Clean and lubricate machines, tools and equipment to remove grease, rust, stains and foreign matter. Program computers and electronic instruments such as numerically controlled machine tools. Set controls to regulate machining, or enter commands to retrieve, input or edit computerized machine control media. Confer with engineering, supervisory and manufacturing personnel to exchange technical information. Confer with numerical control programmers to check and ensure new programs or machinery will function properly and that output will meet specifications. Fit and assemble parts to make or repair machine tools. Assist in design fixtures, tooling and experimental parts to meet special engineering needs. Prepare working sketches for the illustration of product appearance.
