Benet Academy company history timeline
In 1887, St Procopius College was founded by Benedictine monks from the St Procopius Parish in the Pilsen neighborhood of Chicago’s west side.
Construction began on a new college building in Lisle (what later would be known as Benedictine Hall.) The cornerstone was dedicated on July 2, 1900.
Priests for the Abbey and various dioceses were trained there until 1967.
The Candor is the award-winning student news publication of Benedictine University in Lisle, IL. Since its creation in 1982, The Candor has continued to grow each year to serve the needs of the Benedictine community.
Benedictine Hall, their former home, continued to serve as a classroom and administration building for the university until taken down in 2004.
