BENS company history timeline

1997

The company entered the "neutraceutical" or "functional food" segment in 1997 with the introduction of rice fortified with calcium, vitamins, and other minerals.

Sales: $1 billion (1997 est.)

2003

In 2003, Scott Jones (Ben's Pretzels Co-Founder and CEO) was in Amish Country, Indiana conducting ministry visits with a fellow parishioner.

2007

Maintenance work was performed on the clock in 2007.

2008

Our first brick-and-mortar location opened in 2008 inside the Concord Mall in Elkhart, Indiana and is still operating today.

2012

The tower housing Big Ben was formally known as St Stephen’s Tower until 2012, when it was renamed Elizabeth Tower on the occasion of Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee, celebrating 60 years on the British throne.

2017

On August 21, 2017, Big Ben stopped chiming, as the tower was undergoing a four-year restoration project during which the bell was scheduled to ring only for special events, notably New Year’s Eve and Remembrance Sunday.
