The Historical Society of Bensalem Township was founded and incorporated in 1977 as a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization.
The latest book expands upon historical events going back as far as Bensalem’s founding with newly discovered information and includes coverage of the more recent past from 1984 to the present.
Upon opening its doors on August 24, 1998, School Lane enrolled a student body of 450 in grades K-6.
2003 SLCS became one of the state’s first charter schools to receive a charter renewal
Early in 2008, SLCS broke ground for a two story addition to the Bristol Pike campus.
In 2010, School Lane began renovations to the former Cornwell's Skating Center located next door at 2350 Bristol Pike.
2010 Cash purchase of adjacent skating rink for future expansion
2012 Bensalem Township School District approved SLCS charter amendment for grades 9-12
2014 SLCS becomes an authorized IB World School for the Middle Years Program in June
2015 Purchase two Tillman Drive properties for permanent middle & high school location in May
2016 SLCS opens renovated building at 3350 Tillman Drive for grades 7-10 in August
2017 Received authorization as IB World School for Diploma Program in April
2018 SLCS celebrates 20 years of providing high quality charter education to students in Bucks County in August
