This is a highly responsible position in the Justice and Public Safety Cabinet. The employee is expected to perform all duties to the best of their ability, act in a responsible manner at all times, demonstrate leadership qualities, and treat all staff, youth, and persons with respect. * This position is deemed essential and has been designated for mandatory operations by the Appointing Authority; therefore, the incumbent is not eligible for Adverse Weather Leave.
* Must have and maintain a valid driver's licenses for the length of employment in this classification.
* May be required to work overtime and any shift as needed and directed.
* Must successfully complete the Department of Juvenile Justice Training Academy; which entails two weeks on the job training, four weeks (Monday - Friday) at the academy training location (Louisville, Kentucky).
* Overnight lodging and travel is required for the ACT and provided by the department.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Must have two years of experience in the supervision and care of young adults (ages 12-21) in a residential, correctional, group home, detention or day treatment program.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Successful completion of the Department of Juvenile Justice Training Academy or equivalent training program approved by the Commissioner of the Department of Juvenile Justice will substitute for two years of the required experience.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Experience in the supervision and care of young adults (ages 12-21) in a residential, correctional, group home, detention, military or day treatment program will substitute for the required education on a year-for- year basis.

This position is a full time (40 hrs./week), **onsite** position with a competitive hourly pay rate and eligible for overtime pay. **This position will start May 2026 and go through Summer. Dates are flexible with school calendar.** Our hope is that the co-op students that are hired will do multiple co-op rotations with CMTA with possible consideration for full time employment upon graduation.
**Job Description:**
This position provides a unique opportunity for hands-on training in mechanical/HVAC/Energy design. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work well with a team, and independently. Our engineers will teach the student co-op how we design and implement mechanical systems/infrastructure and implement energy efficient measures in our building projects. This is a great opportunity to work on some of the most challenging and complex MEP projects, and become an important part of our design team.
**Job Functions: (may include but are not limited to)**
+ Produce detailed layout and equipment details of HVAC systems,
+ Produce one-line diagrams/schematics,
+ Assist the design team in the process of assembling organized sets of drawings,
+ May assist in the data collection and/or field verification, and
+ Work in conjunction with designers and engineers to help develop all aspects of a project.

Maintain vessel safety including navigational equipment, fire suppression, hull integrity, repair scheduling, safety training and fire drills.Interact with governmental agencies.

Education:
High School Diploma/GED or an equivalent combination of training and work experience.
Valid United States Coast Guard issued license with radar endorsement preferred.
TWIC Card.
Valid Driver's License preferred.
Experience:
Must be proven proficient either by previous experience or by the successful completion of the in-house training program.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must have the ability to manage the vessel and crew in regard to upkeep and safety.
Comprehend essential information related to: spill containment and cleanup, MSDS sheets and emergency action information, and safety meeting.
