Berkshire Children and Families, Inc. company history timeline

1969

The Northern Berkshire Child Care Committee (NBCCC) was organized in 1969 by a group of concerned and committed women to address the need for day care in Northern Berkshire County.

1982

The agency changed its name to Child Care of the Berkshires in 1982 to better reflect its expanding geographic growth to Pittsfield, Stockbridge and Great Barrington.

1986

In 1986 the agency purchased its first computer.

2018

Donald L. (Don) Lutes Jr. died September 3, 2018 at Fairview Rehabilitation Center in Great Barrington where he had resided since May.

2020

Our goals in 2020, are built on the foundation established by the Burnham’s legacy.
