This role is a great fit for an Assistant Vice President (AVP) to Vice President (VP) level underwriter or broker with at least 8 years' experience working in casualty, ideally in excess casualty or E&S casualty, who is also hard working, intelligent, passionate, and always striving towards excellence. The experienced Casualty underwriter will be responsible for expanding and developing new business opportunities through production and marketing calls with brokers and clients, prequalifying new business and utilizing underwriting acumen to identify and select sound casualty risks. Duties & Responsibilities: * Develop and grow the Casualty book of business which includes primary general liability, lead umbrella, and excess liability for various classes (e.g. General Casualty, Energy, Transportation, and Products). * Establish, develop, and expand broker and customer relationships in the Western Region. * Work closely with loss control, claims, and legal teams to evaluate risk and provide solutions to customers. * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, and make quick decisions while maintaining underwriting integrity. * Maintain a profitable renewal book. Each day, you will see 12 to 16 patients, conducting routine eye exams, prescribing contact lenses, and refining your skills through CI training. With access to cutting-edge, high-tech equipment-including an EHR system (Crystal), an autorefractor, topography, and a retinal fundus camera-you will confidently perform comprehensive eye tests, ensuring accurate diagnoses and tailored solutions for each patient.
