**Job Category:** Mx Mechanic Fabricates, installs and repairs sheet metal equipment and fixtures with a minimum of waste and in accordance with standards and regulations _To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Complies with 14 CFR, manufactures specifications, the GMM, Company policy and procedures as well as other methods accepted by the FAA and OSHA when accomplishing maintenance. + Plans, fabricates, assembles, installs and repairs sheet metal parts, equipment and products, while utilizing knowledge of working characteristics of metallic and nonmetallic materials, machining, and layout techniques. + Lays out patterns, shapes, and fabricates sheet metal. + Installs a variety of fasteners in the repair and maintenance of aircraft. + Safely operates such equipment as sheet metal forming machines, breaks, shears, cutters and crimpers. Verifies that all calibrated tooling is current on its calibration before use. Verifies materials and parts used are of a serviceable condition and correct effectivity for the aircraft. + Performs duties in all areas inside and outside the hangar as well as at the airport terminal. + Verifies that each part or component is effective for the aircraft on which it will be installed. + Adheres to material handling and control procedures specified in GMM and by the equipment manufacturers. Initiates material requests as needed. + Evaluates the area and equipment that will be utilized to ensure that safety is not compromised before performing any maintenance action. Applies safety first at all times. + Maintains a clean, safe working environment throughout the work shift. + Updates Supervisor on progress of work performed. Reviews paperwork at the end of shift to ensure that all work accomplished is signed for prior to departing the maintenance facility. Assists with completion of shift turnover reports in accordance with procedures in the GMM. + Completes all department internal company forms, maintenance records, documents, work orders, etc. including performing maintenance computer system transactions as required (MEL, DMI). + Provides coaching and on-the-job training as directed. + Adheres to established work schedule. Participates in shift meetings and briefings as required. + Submits in writing any suggested changes in operational procedures that will enhance safety and cost effective aircraft maintenance. + Accesses Company Intranet to become familiar with and utilize the GMM and aircraft manuals. **Job Category:** Maintenance PL Plans, coordinates and directs aircraft maintenance at a hangar to produce cost effective, reliable maintenance operation in compliance with policies, procedures and regulations. You will compile records concerned with ordering, receiving, storing, issuing, and shipping materials, supplies, and equipment. Your eligibility begins once you complete your Private Pilot Certificate. Successfully complete an interview with PSA to become a Cadet in the program. Cadets are offered numerous opportunities, including mentorship with airline industry experts and internships. Upon completion of your Senior Cadet Interview, you are eligible for tuition reimbursement paid to you as follows: $7,500 after the Senior Cadet Interview $7,500 at time building (when they are within 500 hours of ATP minimums) Total: $15,000 ATP-CTP Course paid upon reaching ATP/R-ATP minimum flight experience requirements. PSA will pay for the ATP-CTP course (valued at $5,000) for qualified candidates needing to complete the ATP written exam prior to new hire training. Flow-through to American Airlines with no additional interview, once completing requirements at PSA. Interview Process Interview process is broken down into 3 sections: Section 1 - HR Interview - Cadet Section 2 - Technical Evaluation - Senior Cadet Section 3 - Cadet Instructor Check-in and Logbook review - Cadet Instructor Qualifications Must have at least a private pilot certificate Must be a current flight student OR CFI, actively instructing No more than three check ride failures No accident or incident determined by the NTSB to be negligent on behalf of the pilot/aviator Ability to obtain a First-Class Medical Ability to obtain a Valid Passport Ability to obtain FCC Restricted Radio Operator's Permit Must be able to meet the necessary hours and qualification under the ATP requirements or the restricted ATP requirements Cadets eligible for a R-ATP (1000 or 1250 hours), must have no more than 700 hours Cadets requiring ATP (1500 hours), must have no more than 1200 hours If hired, must be able to demonstrate that you are authorized to work in the US Must be able to speak, read and write in English Position Specifics Competencies To be successful at PSA, you should be: Driven Reliable Caring Engaging Communicator Decisive Results Driven Additional Information Work Environment: This job operates inside a climate-controlled building.
