As a part of our manufacturing group, you will be responsible for the mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting and operation of processing and packaging lines and equipment.
Shift hours:

At our Avon Mill, we produce 50 lb. bags of flour that are distributed to restaurants, cruise ships, hotels, schools, as well as Betty Crocker dry mix pouches. **Purpose of the Role**

The primary role of the Utilities Technician is to continuously improve the reliability, efficiency, and utilization of plant utility systems and equipment. This is accomplished by utilizing mechanical and electrical expertise in the operation and precise installation, maintenance, and repair of plant utility systems and equipment followed by concise and accurate documentation of all activities and observations. Knows and follows HACCP program and principles, USDA guidelines, and Good Manufacturing Practices.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Utilities Technician works closely with all plant personnel to support improved utility system and equipment reliability as well as efficient and cost-effective use of plant resources.
Apply maintenance skills and knowledge to install, operate, maintain, and repair plant utility systems and equipment.
Monitor and record system performance and make adjustments to assure the safe and efficient operation of plant utility systems and equipment.
Initiate and perform condition monitoring tasks including preventive and predictive maintenance.
Troubleshoot equipment failures to ascertain possible failure modes and participate with operations, plant engineering, suppliers, and other associates to improve equipment reliability.
Utilize the Company's Maintenance Management System and supports its use as a key management information tool.
Provide direction and training for less skilled maintenance personnel and machine operators.
Will be required to work with and develop equipment and ideas deemed to be confidential information and/or trade secrets owned by the company. This person will be required to protect the company's rights in and ownership of those trade secrets and confidential information
A solid background in mechanical and electrical systems as well as specific training in ammonia refrigeration and industrial boiler and HVAC operation is critical to the success of the Utilities Technician. This position requires excellent technical writing and verbal communications skills and the ability to read and work from Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) technical manuals, Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and control schematics. The incumbent must have the ability to learn and effectively use various software programs including the Company's Maintenance Management System and various building management systems
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be 18 years of age or older (all plant positions)
Must have 3-5 years work experience.
Must possess basic knowledge of electrical safety, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic, ammonia refrigeration, compressors, boilers, and HVAC systems.
Previous experience with refrigeration, boiler room operation, and air compressors is preferred.
Must pass a pulmonary fitness test, maintain HAZMAT certification, and be SCBA qualified.
Must be a team player, self-motivated, and willing to work evenings, weekends, and overtime as required.
Must possess manual dexterity, good communication skills, and the ability to read, write, add, subtract, multiply and divide.
Must be able to follow instructions and demonstrate dependable attendance.
Must have a valid driver's license.

Provides employees with proper tools, equipment and information including any changes that may affect their work. Acquire or develop appropriate maintenance and troubleshooting documentation to assure effective and consistent procedures for equipment maintenance. Ensure appropriate use of computerized maintenance record systems to contribute to efficiency of operations and to assure availability of information for future decisions relating to Plant Engineering functions.
Understands and follows global financial standards applicable to the position. Responsible for creation, release, and change of necessary documentation.
Ensures employees receive training as specified to their craft and business needs. Willingness to be on-call
