Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Firmware Intern to join the Building Control Systems Team in Carlsbad, CA. The successful candidate will be working individually or as part of a design team, develops, evaluates, and verifies system- and device-level requirements, architecture, and interface specifications; device-level firmware architecture, design, and implementation. The candidate may participate in any part of the Software Development Lifecycle. This role will support the Lighting Management solutions.
What Will You Do?
Working closely with the Senior Firmware Engineer, contribute to the development of the Engineering Product Specification for our Lighting Management solutions.
Design and implement functionality and automated verification of secure firmware for RTOS-based devices within the Lighting Management solutions.
Performs other similar and related duties as required.
Qualifications

Education:
Pursuing a degree in Embedded Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:

Our HRIS Team is looking to hire a student who will work 40 hours per week during our Summer Internship Program and can also work 15-20 hours per week during the school year starting in May 2026 onsite at our Columbus, Ohio headquarters. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Procurement team as a Procurement Intern. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in procurement processes and supplier management within a dynamic organization. A successful candidate will be local to Columbus, Ohio, and plans to graduate in December of 2026 or May 2027. We are looking for candidates majoring in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field.
RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will assist the Procurement department with their daily activities and projects to ensure achievement of department goals and objectives
Track and report cost savings
Maintain adherence to procurement policies and procedures
Conduct research to identify potential suppliers/vendors and gather information on their products, services, and pricing
Cost Reduction Planning: Collaborate with category managers to identify savings opportunities, analyze spend data, and support implementation of cost-saving initiatives.
Sourcing Activities: Help prepare RFx documents, evaluate supplier proposals, and support negotiations under supervision.
Strategy Development: Contribute to category strategy refreshes by gathering market intelligence and benchmarking data.
Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies in procurement workflows and suggest automation or optimization opportunities.
Project Support: Assist with procurement - related projects including supplier research, data analysis, and stakeholder coordination.

Job Description Summary

What you'll do
* Gain hands-on experience in World Class Manufacturing while contributing to real safety and environmental improvements in an industrial setting
* Support annual LOTOTO audits and collaborate with operators and mechanics to refresh over 250 isolation documents
* Assist the SHE Manager in developing and updating Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) for both new and existing equipment
* Collect and analyze sustainability data on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis to identify and support improvement projects
* Review and update PPE matrices in collaboration with teams to ensure alignment with current safety standards
* Contribute to daily SHE communications, participate in the site's SHE Committee, and support seasonal safety campaigns like "100 Days of Summer"

As a Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) Specialist Support Intern, you will:
* Gain practical, hands-on experience in the Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) field at a PSM-regulated site.
* Support the SHE department in day-to-day activities and ongoing safety initiatives at the Mentor facility.
* Participate in safety incident investigations, contributing to root cause analysis and resolution planning.
* Assist in tracking and implementing corrective actions to improve site safety and compliance.

As a Health & Safety Intern, the projects assigned will vary based on the intern's education level and plant location, but will generally reflect the duties outlined below.
Summary of Responsibilities:
* Assist in providing a safety-focused work environment.
* Assist in developing a continuous improvement plan to improve safety throughout the company through communication and training sessions.
* Assist in emergency response program.
* Assist in organizing safety information from online resources.
* Assist in safety inspectors during a property inspection
* Assist in ensuring that any work hazard complaints or concerns are thoroughly followed through and acted upon in an appropriate manner.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Enrollment in bachelor's degree in a related field
* Completion of at least sophomore year of study by the summer of 2026
