At the Homewood Suites Portsmouth, Maintenance is responsible for the preventative maintenance and upkeep of guest rooms and public spaces.
Responsibilities:
Assist with the operation maintenance and repair of equipment.
Change out light bulbs; perform preventative maintenance for guest rooms to include: vinyl repair touch up paint minor furniture repair tub caulking tile repairs etc.
Perform preventative maintenance for ice machines refrigerators kitchen equipment laundry equipment HVAC guestrooms meeting rooms the swimming pool and hot tub.
Perform plumbing repair laundry equipment repair preventative maintenance on all exhaust fans and supply; monitor energy conservation; repair vacuum cleaners and any other small equipment upon request.

Part-time adjunct faculty. Position is for the Winter and Spring terms of the '25-'26 school year with the possibility of subsequent continued employment. Hours vary according to the size of studio roster and the needs of the students and the Academy
Accountabilities
Teaching
Work with students to set goals for private lessons and select repertoire that is broadly representational and musically diverse.
Teach weekly private lessons (50 minutes each) for high school violin students from intermediate to advanced levels.
Create a weekly schedule for private lessons and communicate with students regarding schedule changes.
Maintain accurate rosters, monitor student attendance, enter grades and comments in a timely manner according to the Academic Advising Calendar and deadlines set by the music department.
Teach in accordance with the Academy's calendar and daily schedule and effectively use Academy systems for communication and course management.
Instruct students in technique, musicianship, and practice strategies.
Assess and support musical development by encouraging participation in appropriate performance opportunities.
Communicate student issues or concerns with Department Chair and/or student's advisor when necessary.
Prepare students for recitals, masterclasses, competitions, college admission recordings, ensemble music and other needs.
Engage with diversity, equity, inclusion and anti-racist work specific to the music department.
Collaborate with colleagues on faculty performances as interested/available.
Participate in required department meetings and other forms of shared governance.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional Requirements
Education
B.A. or B.M. or equivalent experience is required. A Master's degree in music is preferred.
Experience
3+ years of successful private studio teaching experience.
3+ years of professional performing experience.
Skills and Knowledge
Excellent studio teaching ability. Ability to teach technique, repertoire, and musicianship to violin students of all levels.
Ability to create a positive and productive learning environment for high school age students.
Demonstrated experience teaching from a musically diverse body of work, including artists from historically marginalized identities.
Enthusiasm for working with adolescents.
Commitment to working in and serving the needs of a diverse and inclusive community.
Other

• Willingness to enforce all school policies and rules governing student behavior.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check (every 5 years).
