About the Role - General Maintenance Mechanic The General Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for general shift coverage including guest requests and overall hotel maintenance requests. Shift Schedule: This is a full-time role, scheduled for 5 days a week with 8-hour shifts. Availability on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday is required, as these are the hotel's highest occupancy days. Two weekdays off will be scheduled and can be discussed during the interview process. The Area Maintenance Technician provides leadership and direction to multiple ESA facilities within their assigned Region. This role reports directly to the Regional Operations leader for the assigned Region and is responsible for maintaining all assigned ESA property/assets in good repair and in presentable condition as outlined in Extended Stay America Green Shield program. The Area Maintenance Technician (AMT) will also assist the facilities teams within the assigned region to manage facilities and maintenance requirements within the regions' sites, ensuring best practices are deployed to achieve efficiencies, reduce operating costs, and maintain a work environment which meet ESA's operations requirements. This role will also have responsibility and oversight for completion of facilities work/projects to reduce the number of OOS rooms, limit the need for outside contractor usage to reduce ESA's (GC) costs, and provide additional preventive maintenance program training and support to Maintenance Technicians in designated Region. The AMT also maintain effective relationships with all ESA cross functional teams and operations leaders. We are seeking a self-motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Hotel Maintenance Technician. This role involves performing general maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the hotel is safe, clean, and functional for guests and staff. Essential Responsibilities: Address guest and staff maintenance concerns promptly. Perform routine inspections of equipment, lights, and common areas. Complete daily maintenance tasks, including minor plumbing, electrical work, painting, and furniture repairs. Walk the property and parking lot to check for maintenance needs and cleanliness. Assist with pool area maintenance and housekeeping deep cleaning tasks as needed. Monitor and update maintenance logs to ensure timely completion of repairs. Maintain positive communication with the front desk, housekeeping, and management teams. Follow company safety and security protocols. Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years of maintenance or related experience. Proficiency with hand and power tools. Strong problem-solving and time-management skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Clear and professional communication skills. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift over 50 pounds regularly. This includes but is not limited to trash and debris, trash containers, cleanliness of building interior and exterior, grounds, walkways, stairwells, driveways and parking areas to include removal of snow/ice in walkways were applicable. * Performs repairs listed on work orders and following the work order process as outlined in the Green Shield Binder. Repairs must be made in a timely fashion and professional manner. * Completes preventative maintenance inspections and repairs as outlined in the Green Shield Binder. * Follows the Green Shield Inspection schedule on a daily basis in order to accomplish all tasks outlined in a timely fashion in accordance with company standards. * Maintains all records as outlined within the Green Shield Binder to include but not limited to Guest Room PM deficiencies, PM Room Inspections, Life Safety Inspections, Elevator Inspections and Non-Guest Room Deficiency Log. * Follows the outlined workflow on the Green Shield Schedule, utilizes the SOPs as a reference guide to complete all tasks per company standards. * Maintains organized and clean work area in the maintenance room, while managing and safeguarding all maintenance tool inventory daily. Ensures that all tools are in good working condition. * Maintains clean and organized boiler rooms, electric rooms, HVAC rooms, fire sprinkler rooms, in accordance with company standards and local ordinances. * Ensures that all fire safety equipment (fire alarm system, smoke detectors, CO detectors, fire extinguishers, etc.) are operational and that inspections are current and in compliance with company standards and local ordinances. * Complies with all ESA safety and security policies and procedures to include OSHA and ADA. * Where applicable to include maintenance of pool and or spa in accordance with ESA policies, procedures and in compliance with local ordinance. * Handles or assists with the response to emergencies at the property or sister sites when asked by management. * Monitors and follows up with outside vendors when directed by management. . OTHER DUTIES * Assists with cleaning any areas of the hotel as assigned by the manager when needed to include but not limited to font desk, associate breakroom, guest laundry, fitness room, vending areas, stairwells and common areas. * Responsible for maintaining overall hotel cleanliness. * Other duties as assigned by the management team.
