Founded by Michael E. Grilli, PE, the firm started in 1982 with three employees working from a small office in Rhode Island.
The Beta Group was founded in 1983 by Bob Zider and The Boston Consulting Group to implement a systematic process of innovation.
He had this idea which became Personics, in 1984, and that was going to be one of our very first projects and Beta’s second partner.
1986 – Five freshly graduated engineers found Beta 80 L.L.C in Milano.
In 1989, Beta acquired BCG’s interest.
One thing that hasn’t changed is our committment to our customers, from the first one in 1990 to the last one.
1990 was the launch of the software solution EMMA – now IO. It debuted a new innovative way to transfer data.
1991 Beta 80 Sets up its first 118 PSAP (Italian emergency number). In over two decades this same PSAP has remained our costumer, so have all the others.
Approved dividends totaling $16.5M, allowing us to return dividends every year since 1992
1995 Beta 80 becomes a Joint-stock company.
Legislation is introduced to allow nonprofit hospitals and healthcare facilities to join BETA. The law passes and becomes effective on January 1, 1999.
2000 Beta 80’s turnover quintuples.
Based on positive operating results and a one-time reserve release for fiscal year 2002, BETA announces a $15 million dividend credit.
In 2004, Beta returned to four-stroke enduro with a major investment both in product development and in its presence on the competition track.
Marchon, Beta’s Flexon partner, sold to Vision Service Plan in 2008 for $700+ million.

2012 Beta80 International, the American headquarter is established in Washington D.C.

2016 Beta 80 continues to grow with worldwide projects and activities
