The City of Seaside is accepting applications to establish an eligibility list for the position of Police Officer with the Seaside Police Department. This process will be used to fill current and future vacancies within our agency over the next six months.
About the Position:
As a Seaside Police Officer, you will protect the life and property of residents and visitors in our coastal community. Officers respond to emergencies, enforce Oregon State Laws and City Ordinances, and engage directly with the public to build trust and solve community issues. Duties include conducting criminal investigations, making arrests, enforcing traffic laws, mediating disputes, participating in court proceedings, and contributing to public outreach and crime prevention programs.

Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Must reside in the Seaside Fire & Rescue area of response or work within the district and able to respond to calls.
All applicants must undergo a background check. Firefighters must not have a criminal background that would make them unable to become DPSST certified.
Must be 17 years of age to enter the Cadet Program, and 18 years of age to become a firefighter.
Must possess a valid Oregon Driver License upon hire.
Must have an insurable driving record.
Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol screen (the test includes marijuana) prior to starting.
All new firefighters must pass a physical ability test.
Applicant must be drug free and be willing to submit to drug testing at all times.
Tobacco use is strongly discouraged.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed primarily in office, vehicles, and outdoor settings, in all weather conditions, including temperature extremes, during day and night shifts.
Work is often performed in emergency and stressful situations.
Employee is exposed to hearing alarms and hazards associated with fighting fires and rendering emergency medical assistance, including smoke, noxious odors, fumes, liquid chemicals, solvents and oils.
Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places.
Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.
Noise levels are usually quiet in office settings, and loud at construction and emergency scenes.

Maintain close working relationships with applicable leadership team, sales and delivery managers, other members of the legal department, as well as other internal core services groups necessary to achieve comprehensive review and risk assessment (cybersecurity, tax, insurance, etc.).
Serve as one of the organization's contacts to address questions related to existing contracts and contract processes.
Prioritize between multiple projects on a time-sensitive basis.

A minimum of 8 years working as a contracts manager or similar role

Physical Requirements:This position could require lifting, pushing, and/or pulling up to 75 lbs. Frequent bending, stooping, and squatting. Long periods of sitting with intermittent periods of standing. The work requires lifting and guiding wheelchair riders onto the wheelchair lift and securing tie-downs for wheelchairs as well as performing routine maintenance inspections and procedures on the buses and vans.
Cognitive Functions:The Driver must maintain order and discipline on the bus while driving in a safe and appropriate manner. This position requires intense concentration and the ability to make quick judgment calls to ensure the safety of the driver and the passengers.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Transit Program Coordinator
The following minimum qualifications are required for this position:
* Associate's degree in business administration, Public Policy or Administration, Urban or Transportation planning, or a related field. A bachelor's degree is preferred.

* Three years of professional experience in public policy, public transportation, planning, or a related field. Experience must include communication with the public in a customer service, public education and/or involvement capacity.
Special Requirements:

The City of Albany is now accepting applications for on-call Transit Drivers/Operators*. We are seeking dedicated and passionate individuals to operate diesel and gasoline-powered buses on established routes, assist passengers, and maintain non-mechanical aspects of the buses. GENERAL PURPOSE
This position is responsible for operating city transit buses in a safe and efficient manner. In addition, the driver is responsible for providing for the safety and well-being of the passengers and non-mechanical upkeep on the buses; and performs related duties as assigned.
Essential Functions/Duties & Responsibilities

Operates transit buses on various established assigned routes and adheres to schedule safely and legally.
Responds to public inquiries about bus schedules and procedures; and provides assistance when necessary.
Maintains an accurate accounting of daily passenger sheets, vehicle maintenance check forms, and other related records that may be required.
Reports any changes to assigned routes or stops and all bus and passenger accidents immediately to supervisor.
Responsible for passengers' safety including the enforcement of passenger regulations such as no smoking or eating on the bus.
Performs daily vehicle safety checks before operating the bus and reports any vehicle malfunctions to supervisor.
Maintains buses including fueling and cleaning; ensures supervisor is aware of routine service and repair needs of assigned vehicles.
May perform minor maintenance such as changing lamps as needed.
Represents the City of Albany by responding to the public, citizens, its employees, and others in a prompt, professional, and courteous manner while continuously maintaining a positive customer service demeanor. Regards everyone, internal and external, as a customer and deliver the best service possible in a respectful and patient manner.

Qualifications & Requirements
Education and Experience:
A high school diploma or its equivalent and one year of job-related experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Special Requirements:
Possession of a valid A or B Oregon Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with air brakes AND passenger endorsement and a driving record that meets the City's driving standards.
Ability to pass post-offer background check, including driving history, and job-related physical required.
In accordance with Human Resources substance abuse policies, incumbents in this position are subject to the City's Drug & Alcohol testing program.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of: operating a transit bus in a safe and efficient manner; develop and maintain defensive driving skills; learn and implement city procedures, regulations, and requirements with respect to safety.
Skill in: the operation of listed tools and equipment.
Ability to: operate a transit bus in a safe and efficient manner; develop and maintain defensive driving skills; learn and implement city procedures, regulations, and requirements with respect to safety; effectively use oral and written communication in the performance of duties and responsibilities; use independent judgment and make decisions without direct supervision; report to work regularly and on time; provide high quality service to the public and other employees; establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other departments, and the public; and operate computers for data entry.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed in the field, operating the bus, regardless of weather conditions where an employee is exposed to noise, fumes, and road vibration. Work is also performed in the transit garage. Employee may be required to work evenings and weekends.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The work is light work which requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force to move objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required:

In the performance of job duties, the employee will operate commercial bus, phone, two-way radio, hatch key, tire thumper, wheelchair lift, tools for bus maintenance and other related equipment.
