The Mechanical Engineer will use analysis and engineering best practice to design and guide the development of Interiors, Doors & Transparencies, and Cabin Equipment. They will work with other design engineers and support teams to meet product, certification, and safety objectives. This role will primarily collaborate with Design, Stress, Systems, Safety, and Certification teams.How you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation: Develop and Maintain 2D & 3D Datasets in a controlled PLM Environment using Catia V6. Perform hand calculations and FEA to ensure product integrity at minimum weight. Develop and build prototypes, perform initial analyses, and document results to inform design. Design products for certification based on requirements and accepted means of compliance. Create supporting documentation for certification deliverables. Collaborate with internal and external manufacturing resources to minimize cost and improve manufacturability. Minimum Qualifications: Minimum 5-10 years of experience. Demonstrated experience in mechanical design on FAA Certification Programs. Ability to perform hand calculations and Finite Element Analysis. Proficiency in 3D CAD software (Catia V6 preferred). The Aircraft Dynamics Engineer will conduct aeroelastic and aeroservoelastic analysis and testing for fixed wing and vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) aircraft. The engineer will work closely with the Flight Sciences and Structures teams to feed analysis results into aircraft design loops. They will work with various system experts (such as Motors, Flight Controls, etc.) in ensuring that aircraft capability is accurately captured in dynamic analyses. The dynamics engineer will support both component and vehicle-level modal testing and associated analyses. The Propulsion Structural Engineer will contribute to the development of propulsion system components used in the motors and inverters, from a blank page to a certified product. The Structural Engineer will help optimize the designs to meet performance requirements, minimize weight and maximize robustness. Documenting the analyses, validating the boundary conditions and results by developing test plans and analyzing test data and correlating to the predictions is a key responsibility for this position.
