Great Life work Balance position with excellent benefits! Incumbent is responsible for managing all aspects of food service operation at designed site. This is a part time position; no nights, weekends or holidays!
Responsibilities:
Follows all policies and procedures in regards to food service and food safety..
Orders, rotates and receives all meals, bulk food supplies, paper, plastic and other kitchen supplies.
Restocks and maintains all kitchen supplies in a neat and orderly fashion.
Checks and records hot and cold temperatures on all prepared foods upon arrival from the vendor and prior to serving at meal time. Takes the appropriate actions whenever temperatures do not conform policies and procedures, and advises the Site Coordinator accordingly. Ensures that all kitchen thermometers are calibrated routinely.
Maintains a neat, clean and orderly kitchen. Maintains all kitchen equipment and ensures that the equipment is in good working order.
Prepares light breakfasts, as needed.
Responsible for the preparation, serving and overall coordination of the luncheon meal each day. This includes the main meal, alternate meal and all special meals per dietary order.
Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing the kitchen at the end of the luncheon meal. This includes the proper sanitization of all pots, pans and utensils, as well as all equipment, counters, floors, etc.
Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
ServSafe Certification preferred
Current CPR Certification preferred
Minimum 1 year of experience in food service industry or equivalent

The Food Service Worker performs a variety of essential functions related to the safe and efficient assembly, distribution, and service of meals for hospital patients, staff, and visitors. This role supports day-to-day food service operations while maintaining cleanliness, safety, and excellent customer service.
Essential Functions:
Attend department meetings, in-services, and training sessions as assigned.
Anticipate and respond to customer needs in a timely and professional manner.
Maintain the cleanliness of work areas and department equipment.
Demonstrate a friendly and positive attitude when interacting with patients, staff, and visitors.
Follow all HACCP food safety standards and hospital protocols.

Work in various roles, including the tray line, cafeteria, and kitchen stations.
Set up and stock food stations for meal service; assemble and deliver patient trays.
Clean and sanitize equipment, stations, and floors after each meal period.
May operate dish machines, trash compactors, and perform general cleaning tasks.
Prepare supplemental food items for patient tray service.
Participate in sanitation and cleaning projects as assigned by the manager.
Assist with the training and cross-training of new and existing employees.

• Works under general supervision of a Food Service Supervisor and follows established procedures and job flows.
• Assembles trays for patients.

• Delivers food trucks to patient floors as assigned. Assures all food trucks are placed in their gallies and secured. Picks up food tray trucks from patient floors after each meal period. Delivers outpatient/inpatient breakfasts, lunches & dinners (boxes or meals) to Emergency Department, Blood Bank, APS, Ellison 2, etc…as needed.
• Pick- up and Store supplies from the DSC. Rotates all stock according to First In First Out (FIFO) procedures.
• Sweep and mop tray line area and hallway. Remove all accumulated trash to refuse area.
• Remove empty milk and bread creates to the DSC.
• Answer telephone calls and report all needs to the supervisor.
• Handles food, supplies and equipment in a manner that meets federal state, local and The Joint Commission regulations.
• Must be customer service oriented and meet all guidelines of patient rights and patient confidentiality

Food Service Worker full-time hours are 7:30-3:30 from Monday to Friday. It will involve monitoring portion sizes of meal components to ensure that meals are meeting the CACFP requirements. The position will also be responsible for assembling and serving breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snacks following the delivery schedule and maintaining food safety by using food allergen substitution list. Work Environment
The Food Service Worker operates in the kitchen and classrooms environments preparing and delivering meals to the classrooms.
Physical Demands
Standing, walking, sitting, lifting up to 40lbs, and dexterity for meal preparations.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Food Service Worker - full-time hours are 7:30-3:30 from Monday to Friday. It will involve monitoring portion sizes of meal components to ensure that meals are meeting the CACFP requirements. The position will also be responsible for assembling and serving breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snacks following the delivery schedule and maintaining food safety by using food allergen substitution list. Ensure that the kitchen operation needs, issues, or problems are communicated in a timely and professional manner.
Required Education and Experience
Minimum Requirement: High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
Experience with meal preparation and working in a school setting preferred
Allergen Training Certificate & Food Handler Certification preferred

Salary
The approved salary range for this role is $16-$17.49 per hour
