Job Purpose:

Job Purpose
Our physiatry team is dedicated to both inpatient and outpatient services. A seasoned physiatrist and two nurse practitioners staff the inpatient unit. Patient populations include a wide variety of diagnoses that include TBI, SCI, general deconditioning, pain patients, post-op neurosurgical and orthopedic patients, and oncology patients to name a few. We take pride in our specialty inpatient programming that includes disorders of consciousness, post-op SDR and SCI optimization program. The inpatient program is supported by our own hospitalist team and specialists from Oklahoma Children's Hospital that consult on our inpatients.
The outpatient team is dedicated toward both general rehabilitation for underlying neurologic disorders as well as multidisciplinary specialty clinics. We have developed a strong clinical partnership with surrounding children's hospitals that allows us to develop and staff multidisciplinary specialty clinics for spina bifida/spinal cord dysfunction patients, a TBI follow up clinic staffed with neuropsychology, movement disorders clinic, and brachial plexus clinic. The outpatient team includes nursing, case management, nurse coordinators for specialty programs, and social work. There is full-time orthotics support for our inpatient and outpatient population. We also provide a specialty equipment clinic to evaluate DME needs for our patient population.
We are looking for an energetic pediatric physiatrist that has special interest in TBI follow up as well as neuro-oncology patients. We would support interest in an inpatient consultant as well as a general practice that would include tone management such ITB pump management and botulinum toxin injections. Interest in program development and desire to create programs is also encouraged and supported. Research interests and collaborations could be fostered with our in-house research staff as well as collaboration with the CP Research Network and International Pediatric Rehabilitation Collaborative.

Responsibilities:
Performs all aspects of direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory
Determines effectiveness of the therapy and works with interdisciplinary team members to develop the best care plan for the patient
Communicates effectively to all interdisciplinary team members
Education:
Graduate of a Respiratory Therapy Program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Respiratory Care
Experience Required:
School Clinical experience required
Licenses/Certifications:
Credentialed as a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care, with the understanding that you will pursue and obtain Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentials within 1 year of employment.
Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner from the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision.
CPR Certification may be obtained upon hire
PALS Certification may be obtained upon hire
Work Schedule:
We offer 12-hour shifts (7:00 pm - 7:00 am)
Full Time: 3 (12-hour) Shifts Weekly
Part Time: 2 (12-hour) Shifts Weekly
PRN/Occasional: 1 (12-hour) Shift Per Pay Period (After completion of required training period).

Base Pay & Shift Differentials:

Bethany Children's Health Center also offers shift differentials for working evening, nights or weekend hours. If you were to work those time frames, that amount would be added to your hourly base rate each hour. Approved rates are as follows:
Weekdays - 3:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m: +$2.25/hour
Weekdays - 11:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m: +$5.00/hour
Weekends - 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m: +$2.50/hour
Weekends - 3:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m: +$4.25/hour
Weekends - 11:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m: +$9.00/hour
Training requirements for nightshift:
Week 1: Monday-Friday from 8:00am-5:00pm
Week 2: Tuesday-Thursday from 6:30am-7:00pm
Week 3: Monday-Wednesday 6:30pm-7:00am
Training Requirements for Week 1:
This involves a variety of trainings. On Monday, you will onboard and learn about hospital requirements and culture with Jaycee from HR. Tuesday, you will complete RT training. Wednesday is Nursing Orientation. Thursday is New Employee Orientation for all BCHC new hires. Friday is a trauma informed care class called Mandt that we require of all employees.
Training Requirements for Week 2:
This week will include a thorough rehabilitation training day, our Meditech EMR system training, and other required courses related to your position (ie. HealthStream, Lippincott, BLS course, PALS course, etc.)
Training Requirements for Week 3:
Packet training week includes all nursing specific trainings. During this week you will complete mandatory online classrooms specific for your job title, and complete hands-on skills at the bedside and with our nurse educators.
Please keep in mind that all full time, part time, and occasional employees are required to attend these trainings and orientations.
