More about the Role
Reporting into the Practice Manager, the Kennel Assistant provides care to address the needs of patients that are visiting the practice for grooming and / or boarding. The Kennel Assistant ensures that the boarding area is clean and safe for all patients by cleaning cages, runs, and ward areas and washing laundry. The Kennel Assistant walks, feeds, and administers medication to patients (as needed and supervised by Doctor or Technician and based on confidence and experience)
. Previous animal husbandry experience is preferred but not required.

Launders and dries towels and blankets.
Walks hospital grounds regularly and cleans any trash and stool material; empties trash throughout the practice and grounds.

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides compassionate, hands-on care to patients under the direction and supervision of a Unity Registered Nurse (RN). All care is based on the RN's comprehensive patient assessment and is delivered according to the patient's individualized Activities of Daily Living (ADL) Plan of Care, ensuring comfort, dignity, and safety.
Schedule: Full-time (40 hours per week), four 10-hour shifts. Typical hours are either 6:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. or 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Weekend commitment is a minimum of every 3rd weekend (currently every eighth weekend). Includes on-call backup coverage for approximately 10-15 shifts per year and coverage for 1-2 holidays per year.
