By 1955, the congregation had started to outgrow its original facility.
Ralph Sandberg ws called in 1956 to be Bethany’s next pastor.
An education wing was completed in 1958.
Pastor Sandberg served until 1962.
As a result of the congregation’s growth and need for additional space, the old church building was torn down and a new brick structure built in 1978.
Lawrence Wogman was called to be pastor of Bethany in the late 1980’s.
In his honor, a Stoneburner Employee Service Award would be established in 1981 to recognize employees who complete 10 or more years of service.
In 1998, an additional 1 1/2 acre parcel of land adjacent to the church building was purchased and fund raising began for an expansion of the building.
A total of 162 Cottage units would be developed in multiple phases through 1999.
On May 23, 2004 the expanded facility with new offices, a chapel, community room, additional classroom space for the preschool and improved parking was dedicated.
The organization’s new name, Graceworks Lutheran Services, became effective in January 2006 and expresses a motivation to offer works in faithful response to God’s grace.
During 2007, the most robust construction year of the expansion project, Graceworks generates $232 million in economic impact for the Dayton area and tri-state region.
In 2008 the congregation celebrated its 100th anniversary.
Graceworks Lutheran Services launched Graceworks at Home in early 2010.
Doctor Paul Krampitz was called as Bethany’s next pastor and began serving here in 2012.
