The Working Environment You Can Expect:
These positions require the incumbent to travel to remote areas in small aircraft and have occasional overnight stays in rustic conditions with some exposure to extreme weather conditions in the winter. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work one on one with TANF, 477 and GA clients and their families to develop Family Self Sufficiency Plans
Assist TANF, 477, and GA clients with the case management objectives in their plans by helping them achieve GED skill levels, reduce employment barriers, apply for training or educational opportunities, locate scholarships and any other tools necessary to become self-sufficient.
Completes Monthly Activity Data (MAD) reports that includes case record information related to client information, attendance and status change.

Summary Job Goal: Under the supervision of the Lands & Cultural Resources Division, the Brownfield
Coordinator is responsible for fulfilling the programmatic activities outlined in AVCP's current EPA BRP
grant proposal and work plans, complying with EPA budgetary and reporting requirements, finalizing
pending proposals for the upcoming fiscal year, and coordinating with AVCP regional communities and
other entities to assess, clean up, and redevelop contaminated sites, referred to as “Brownfields”.

Implements all aspects of the EPA IGAP program at AVCP.
Provides technical assistance and support to village IGAP coordinators and tribal staff.
Assists tribes with program development based on frequent needs assessment.

Collaborates with the Kuskokwim River Watershed Council and other tribal consortia.
Produces quarterly narrative reports and other ad hoc reports to the EPA in compliance with grant requirements.
Participates in teleconferences with the EPA and tribal IGAP coordinators.
Maintains familiarity with current state and federal environmental statutes and implementing regulations.
Frequently travels to villages throughout the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta Region.

SUMMARY: The Family Advocate works directly with families and children receiving services from the Head Start program/Youth & Child Unit. They are responsible for connecting parents to resources, training, and services by developing a family partnership agreement or service case plan. This partnership agreement helps parents develop short- and long-term goals for themselves, their families, and their children and then connects them to the services to reach those goals. They will be part of a team that provides wrap-around services and this will include working with families receiving AVCP's Child Care services. This position is required to obtain a certification in the Rural Human Services or related credential within 18 months, AVCP will pay for the education and related costs and support time for classes during work hours.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop Family Partnership agreements or case plans with parents, including setting goals that will help improve the quality of life for the whole family.
Connect parents to various resources in partnership with the Tribal Workforce Development Navigator, that are identified through the goals in a Family Partnership agreement or case plan, and other needs identified by the family.
Communicate regularly with parents through phone calls, home visits, etc. to check in, and notify them about school events, activities, health screenings, etc.
Refer parents to any services they identify and assist them with initial calls, follow-up calls, etc.
Maintain updated referral tracking including case notes, documents and other data required in the Child Plus software for families served by the Youth & Child Unit.
Enter attendance data into Child Plus daily and follow-up with families whose kids are absent including making home visits after 3 absences.
Complete a monthly newsletter for the site/families, and keep the Head Start Parent Bulletin board fun, interactive, and up to date.
Assist with recruiting for and filling open enrollment slots.
Assist Head Start center staff with child health and other screenings when necessary.
Participate in the Head Start classroom daily for a minimum of 30 minutes to support Teaching staff and connect with students.
Abide by all confidentiality policies under AVCP.

Prepares and calculates employee wages from timecards and/or other timekeeping systems. Prepares employees tax withholding, i.e., FICA, FUTA, ESC, etc.
Prepares tax reports, and deposits.
Balances checkbooks and ledgers. Reconcile bank statements monthly/quarterly.
Prepares grant progress and other reports to the grant agency, i.e. State or Federal.
Prepares financial reports, and presents them to the Tribal Council.
Performs other duties as assigned.
