Some daily tasks of a Customer Experience Specialist may include:
Welcomes visitors by greeting them, in person or on the telephone in a professional and courteous manner; answering or referring inquiries

What your day might look like:

The Administrative Assistant provides essential administrative support for the Breakthrough II Residential Programs. Responsibilities include managing Medicaid eligibility checks, maintaining organized resident records, assisting with audit preparation, supporting financial processes, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Communicate with funding sources (e.g., Social Security Administration, County DSS, NYS Office of Temporary Disability Assistance) to resolve funding issues and maximize revenue collection.
Review and submit Department of Social Services vouchers for timely payment.
Review resident PNA/Food ledgers for accuracy and submit documentation to Finance.
Assist with preparation of deposits and submission of financial documentation (receipts, check requests, purchase orders, petty cash reimbursements, etc.).
Obtain and maintain monthly safety sheets for all units, review for completeness, coordinate follow-up actions, and document resolution of deficiencies.
File and maintain residential documentation in an organized manner.

Set up and maintain residential charts, including Medicaid documentation, upon admission and annually thereafter.
Assist with preparation for audits and maintain accurate program documentation.
Record and maintain minutes for staff meetings.
Communicate with funding sources (e.g., Social Security Administration, County DSS, NYS Office of Temporary Disability Assistance) to resolve funding issues and maximize revenue collection.
Review and submit Department of Social Services vouchers for timely payment.
Review resident PNA/Food ledgers for accuracy and submit documentation to Finance.
Assist with preparation of deposits and submission of financial documentation (receipts, check requests, purchase orders, petty cash reimbursements, etc.).
Obtain and maintain monthly safety sheets for all units, review for completeness, coordinate follow-up actions, and document resolution of deficiencies.
File and maintain residential documentation in an organized manner.

Your role at BHSN:
As a Support Specialist Level I, you will assist the participants of the OMH licensed community residence to develop, learn and apply the skills necessary to live more independently.
Please note: All shifts are
stay-awake
shifts.
Part-Time opening available for Friday, Saturday & Sunday, 3:00pm to 11:00pm.

What your day might look like:
Assist/provide support to residents with various aspects of daily living skills
Transport residents to appointments, or as needed to obtain services, funding, keep legal obligations, etc.
Assist in grocery shopping for the community residence
Work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members to ensure resident needs are met including but not limited to coordination of mental health/substance use/primary care services, obtaining funding, transportation, linkage to other services, care coordination and discharge planning
Assist in maintaining a safe and sanitary dwelling for residents
Assist in developing, facilitating, participating in resident activities/outings
Your Skills and Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent required
Associate's degree in human services related field strongly preferred
Experience working with special needs populations, especially experience working with individuals recovering from severe mental illness and/or substance use disorders preferred
Ability to climb stairs; ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
Valid NYS driver's license, acceptable to BHSN insurance carrier, for required local travel
CPR certification required within 60 days of employment
Includes work hours during non-traditional business hours

As a Certified Recovery Peer Advocate at BHSN, you will provide non-clinical support services as identified in the patient's treatment or recovery plan. CPRAs may also help those in treatment/recovery in the development of recovery plans, effective coping habits, and life skills for navigating recovery.

What your day might look like:
Non-clinical crisis support, especially after periods of hospitalization or incarceration
Administers Recovery surveys to consumers, family members, employees, and stakeholders.
Provides or facilitates client's education, and assists the client in understanding recovery services.
Proactively engage clients and possess communication skills/ability to transfer new concepts, ideas and insight to others.
Assist in setting up and sustaining self-help (mutual support) groups.
Support the vocational choices of client and assist him/her in overcoming job-related anxiety.
Assist in building social skills in the community that will enhance quality of life. Support the development of natural support systems.
Certified peers also provide support in court rooms for individuals working through criminal justice matters, or accompany individuals to doctors' appointments if needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Your skills and qualifications:
High School Diploma/G.E.D. required, Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Human Services related field preferred.
NYS OASAS Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA) with CCAR Certificate or progressing toward certification is required.
One year of experience working in a human services program in a caregiving role.
Must have an understanding of and respect for each individual's unique pathway to recovery.
Peer Advocate must have a working knowledge of the substance use disorder treatment systems, support services, and a demonstrated commitment to the Recovery Community.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and computer literacy required.
A valid driver's license is required.
