What Does A Bid Manager Do At Entrust Datacard

* Accountabilities:
* Bid Development
* Develops Project implementation document to enable easy hand off to project delivery.
* Prepares content and coordinates graphics for a completed bid that accurately reflects the buyer’s objectives and requirements and helps the buyer understand how Entrust Datacard’s proposed solution fulfills the customer’s needs.
* Prepares content and coordinates internal governance documentation for the bid that accurately reflects the risk profile and agreed approach and helps Entrust Datacard understand how Entrust Datacard’s proposed solution fulfills the corporate needs.
* Supports and monitors outside writers, when necessary.
* Helps experts within the business to articulate their messages succinctly and effectively
* Translates complex, technical solutions, strategies and themes into easily understandable, readable and compelling bid documents
* Bid Coordination
* Manages the bid development process as a project by setting and maintaining a timeline for successful completion and insuring that all contributors deliver.
* Maintains accurate and complete information in Entrust Datacard bid and opportunity tracking tools
* Establishes and maintains personal credibility with subject matter experts (who may be senior sales, business or technical people)
* Encourages proactive behavior from subject matter experts to avoid unnecessary bottlenecks
* Content Consultation
* Partners with New Business Development, Account Management, or Channel Management to understand the buyer’s objectives and requirements
* Leads strategy sessions with the sales representative and other key stakeholders to clarify positioning approach and products/services being proposed.
* Interviews and gathers information to customize bid documents or RFP response documents, with input from Bid’s knowledge base, content developers and/or content experts.
* Leadership
* Provides day-to-day coaching and guidance to less experienced bid specialists; acts as problem-solving escalation point
* Partners with Manager Bid Management on setting and executing the strategic direction of the Bid Management team
* Assesses Bid Management processes and tools and recommend improvements as needed
* Participates in the design, preparation and evolution of the project governance process
* Leads by example – maintaining knowledge of bid management best practices and innovations
* Demonstrates a strong customer service and business oriented ethic to the entire bid management team

What Does A Bid Manager Do At Accenture

* Ensures bid team is staffed and engaged
* Drives creation and validation of win themes
* Manages execution of all action items including scheduling internal reviews and approvals/New Business Management

What Does A Bid Manager Do At Alstom

* Liaise with the Bid Manager & Bid Technical Manager to identify the "good enough" solution
* Support Bid Manager to edit Instructions For Quotation
* Request, consolidate & challenge the cost estimates from all internal and external stakeholders in order to deliver accurate and competitive cost estimates
* Ensure that Alstom financial rules are followed and standard tools are used
* Benchmark bid cost with other Bids / Projects / Reference Libraries
* Develop and Update the financial portion of the Instructions for Quotation (IFQ) during the launch phase of bid periods.
* Be the point of contact for cost reporting for Work Package Owners, Project Managers, Commitment Owners & participating units for tenders
* Participate in and support of reviews/meetings as defined by the PMM (includes: Win/No
* Go, Tender Launch, Tender Gate Review, Tender Review Meeting, Tender Transfer Meeting, Win/Loss assessment)
* Support detailed requirement capture, definition of cost drivers, identification of delta vs reference, definition of gaps, options to be costed, and setting of targets with Bid Managers
* Co-ordinate gap cost information gathering, consolidate cost inputs into overall QCD commitment and secure validation from the concerned stakeholders, ensuring overall compliance with technical and contractual requirements from customers, ensuring compliance with ALSTOM rules
* Lead cost estimation activities based on gap costing approach when possible, including the costing of identified risks & savings with all participating units
* Lead cost estimation activities for changes discussed with the customer during negotiation and update impacted Work Packages and cost commitments, recording change logs during the process
* Support the implementation of the strategy agreed by the Tender Leader and Bid Manager.
* Integrate and Consolidate ALSTOM pricing and Consortium Partners pricing when Alstom is the lead in a consortium
* Prepare the Cost & Pricing forms to comply with the ALSTOM approval process, Wall
* C database, and client required formats
* Integrate ALSTOM terms of payment and cash, as well as Consortium Partners prices and cash data when Alstom leads the consortium
* Support hand-over of cost commitment to project phase (ensure this step is done without impact on overall cost commitment)
* Support the Project Controller of the project team in contract phase in preparing the Work Packages distribution to Work Package Owners
