What do you like best about Big 5 Sporting Goods's CEO and the leadership team?
I remember in 1984 I was touring the Hawthorn main office, we were doing reconstruction of the offices. At the store level we were getting ready for the Olympics. Our stores were merchandise to the tee with soft goods. Mr. Miller brought me into his office and talked about, that all of our quality merchandise and updated stores didn’t mean anything unless, he subtly got up behind his desk and walked over to his old school brass cash register and hit a button on the machine. His point was nothing matters unless the cash register rings. That stuck with me for my entire sales career.
