A 144-acre campus has been designated, but was still in the early stages of construction when classes started in fall of 1962.
Beginning fall quarter 1962 BBCC held its first regular classes at night in Moses Lake High School.
The college opened its new campus in September 1963 with an enrollment around 700.
The Washington State Legislature's Community College Act of 1967 designated BBCC as District 18 of the state community college system.
