In 2001 a group of independent investors purchased LDD, changing the name to Big River Telephone Company, LLC.
In 2004 Big River established a national VoIP switching network that allowed the growing company to offer affordable high-speed Internet service as well as enhanced phone features to residential and business customers.
Furthering its mission to provide communications services to customers, Big River applied for and received federal funds through the American Recovery and Reinvestment ACT 2009.
