Roundup Memorial Healthcare, a Billings Clinic affiliate organization, is a rural integrated health care organization. This integrated facility brings together a physician clinic and 25-bed critical access hospital services to deliver quality coordinated care that is convenient for our patients. Our board-certified family practice physicians and professional staff provide quality care for the entire family. Services offered include medical, surgical, and swing beds, hospice, physician clinic; emergency department, radiology and laboratory services, and physical therapy.
The Director of Nursing role provides nursing leadership for the development and advancement of nursing within RMH and provides leadership to some clinical support services. Insures that a consistent level of nursing care is provided throughout the continuum of care and is accountable for the quality and cost effectiveness of nursing services provided. Develops objectives, policies, and procedures to formalize and implement the mission, vision, and values of RMH. Accountabilities include quality of services; short-and long-range planning to achieve goals and objectives; fiscal control; physician and interdepartmental/intradepartmental relations; personnel management, customer relations, pharmacy, infection control, nursing education, case management, trauma designation, and equipment contract management.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
(1) Develops and oversees the Nursing Services Department to ensure adherence to RMH's organizational mission, vision, values, strategic goals, business strategies, code of business conduct, and service expectations.Interprets, supports, and models the mission and philosophy of RMH. Responsible for promotion of, and adherence to, the elements of RMH's Code of Business Conduct and corporate compliance program. Meets all mandatory organizational and departmental requirements. Maintains competency in all organizational, departmental, and outside agency environmental, employee, or patient safety standards relevant to job performance, and insures compliance of department and staff.
(2) Treats all patients/residents, families, and co-workers as welcomed guests; makes eye contact while communicating with or encountering guests, expresses a positive attitude (e.g., by smiling), greets all customers and co-workers, and introduces self as appropriate.
(3) In collaboration with CEO and medical staff, develops and implements short-and long-range plans, and leads, develops and revises nursing and other assigned programs which enhance services for the critical access hospital (CAH), clinic and emergency departments. Responsibilities also include other services as assigned (e.g., Pharmacy), utilization review/case management, discharge planning, orientation and training of staff, and trauma designation.
(4) Develops, retains, recruits, and leads a talented team committed to accomplishing the goals and objectives of RMH.Recommends, implements, and evaluates plans and systems that assure a sufficient number of qualified and competent staff to provide care/services. Adjusts staffing plans as needed to insure appropriate skill mix to meet patient acuity needs.
a) Develops and implements orientation, competency, and continuing education requirements and opportunities for all staff.
b) Conducts staff meetings and in-services on a routine basis and maintains minutes and attendance.
c) Responsible for nursing staff and other assigned services staff scheduling and to insure 24-hour call coverage is available.

The Technical Assistant is responsible for providing administrative and secretarial support for the Director, Managers, Clinical Coordinators and staff of one or more departments. including record and manual maintenance, establishing essential presentations and databases, extensive travel arrangements and first line interactions regarding internal/external customer concerns.
Essential Job Functions
* Maintains department(s) databases, primary records, manuals, and reference materials. Duties include system maintenance and data integrity for multiple system applications which may reside on more than one information system. Designs and produces correspondence, memorandums, documents, forms, newsletters, reports, metrics, and data graphs for projects and programs based on needs identified by the staff and leadership for the department(s) and/or organization.
* Provides administrative and secretarial support to Directors, Managers, Clinical Coordinators and their staff for one or more departments including receiving and assisting visitors/callers, file and record management, telephones, meeting preparation and minutes, etc. Coordinates functions for identified department staff including physicians if applicable. Duties may include but are not limited to:
* Coordinating and maintaining appointment calendars.
* Arranging meetings and preparing agendas, meeting notices and presentation materials.
* Attend and transcribe meeting minutes.
* May monitor allocation of expenses to appropriate cost centers.
* Obtaining special services as needed.
* Appropriate supply maintenance.
* Site, material, and equipment preparation for events, meetings, educational offerings and presentations.
* May assist in collating and scheduling department evaluations for Director and Managers.
* Responsible for arrangement, typing, distribution and maintenance/revision of Billings Clinic policies and procedures. Coordinates with management staff to revise policies and procedures (department-specific and hospital-wide).
* Coordinate with and assist Directors, Managers, Clinical Coordinators and their staff with travel arrangements including but not limited to:
* Research costs and assist with initial paperwork for request for travel.
* Complete Billings Clinic Business Travel/Education Expense form, including estimated expenses.
* Work with outside vendors to arrange approved travel expenses (i.e. hotel, airline reservations, registration).
* Obtain necessary signatures for approval; submit expense forms to accounting to request pre-payment of approved hotel, airline, and registration expenses.
* Complete "Actual Expenses" portion of the Billings Clinic Business Travel/Education Expense form. Submit airline ticket stubs, detail of hotel charges, and receipts for reimbursable expenses to Accounting and other entities if applicable.
* Performs other duties as assigned or as needed to meet the needs of the department/organization including but not limited to:
* Communicates appropriately with internal/external customers to identify concerns and issues, identifies routing to appropriate resources, and follows up to ensure all matters requiring attention are addressed promptly and efficiently.
* May assist with work across departmental lines as needed to meet organizational needs.
* Acts as a resource to Billings Clinic Leadership and Supervisory staff.
* Identifies needs and sets goals for own growth and development; meets all mandatory system/departmental requirements.

Performs advanced assisted reproductive technology (ART) procedures and laboratory testing, playing a critical role in patient care and outcomes. Supply Chain Operations Technicians are responsible for representing all departments of Billings Clinic in a dynamic fast paced environment where change is the norm, not the exception. They take pride and ownership in providing exceptional customer service. Primary duties include, but are not limited to; shipping and receiving, handling inventory, filling stock orders and delivering stock and non-stock supplies (including but not limited to medications, needles, sharps, blades, solutions, etc) data entry, computer and telephone usage, quality control inspections, delivery of mail, lab specimens and medical records as needed for patient care, and training and orientation of newly assigned staff members. This position will rotate through the entire job functions listed below and will perform clerical and administrative tasks to as needed for support of the department and the organization.

Counts and refills supplies (including but not limited to medications, needles, sharps, blades, solutions, etc) from predetermined par levels. Refills supplies from a systems generated request to the predetermined par level.
* COMPUTER USEAGE
Utilizes computer information systems for look-ups of on-hand quantities, unit of issue, catalog numbers, entering counts for par refills to produce pick lists and for location of supplies within the warehouse. Utilizes web based software and Microsoft office software.
* SHIPPING
Receives items to be shipped out making sure the proper paperwork is with the product and that the item has been properly packaged to ensure no damage in shipping. Must maintain knowledge of packing and shipping requirements for hazardous materials.
Utilizes FedEx and UPS computers for proper shipping labels and addressing.
Coordinates palletized shipments that must be shipped by truck to ensure the best trucking rates.
* RECEIVING
Receives and unpacks shipments and checks packing list against the shipment and purchase order. Assures that quantities received match quantities recorded on the purchase order. Signs off on all incoming shipments. Responsible for receiving, packing and inspection of supplies and verification of information on the invoices and shipping notices are accurate for all products received in the warehouse including product, quantity, unit conversion and catalog number. Enters purchase orders received and quantities received in order to ensure accuracy of on hands inventory. Reports all discrepancies to the Lead or Coordinator and the purchasing agent responsible for the purchase order.
Inspects all products to ensure against damage and shortages/overages. Works closely with purchasing regarding discrepancy reports, quantity ordered against quantity received, wrong catalogue numbers, conditions of shipments received, and damage reports.
Works closely with Purchasing and Accounting Departments regarding questions about product arrival, quantities and purchase order clarifications.
* FREIGHT STOCKING
Verifies receipt notification to product, quantity, unit conversion and catalog number. Stocks and stores supplies from predetermined par levels in appropriate designated areas within the warehouse. * REQUISTIONS
Reviews information on supply requisitions verifying required information is listed including description, quantity, department name and cost center and who is ordering. Picks and assembles orders, verifying and accounting for products and transactions. Processes credits for returned merchandise at the time it is received to ensure the on-hands quantities in the warehouse are correct for reorders. Reports any discrepancies or problems to Lead Supply Chain Operations Technician or Supply Chain Operations Coordinator.
Assembles and distributes routine receiving documents. Maintains daily pick-up/delivery records and weekly operational reports. Inputs entries into the Supply Chain Operations information system.
Delivers supplies and equipment to all departments according to procedures and obtains signatures for proof of delivery. Delivers and retrieves rental equipment from outside agencies.
* DISPATCHER
Coordinates customer service relation issues between Distribution and Billings Clinic departments. Receives and dispatches routine and STAT calls for supplies, equipment, courier services. Responsible to investigate problem scenarios and make recommendations for corrective action.
Coordinates daily work assignments of Supply Chain Operations Technicians to ensure appropriate coverage for all work areas/functions. Reports staff absences and/or shortages to Lead Supply Chain Operations Technician and/or Supply Chain Operations Coordinator.
Reviews and verifies completeness of information on supply requisitions before entering into the computer system for pick lists (i.e., department name, department account number, product description, quantity ordered, unit of issue, authorized signatures, etc.).
Enters data from completed pick lists and requisitions to account for relief inventory of distributed products.
Enters data from returned merchandise/products to ensure correct accounting of on hands inventory.
* SURGERY
Works closely with the OR Supply Chain Specialist to ensure product availability for scheduled surgeries.
Maintain product knowledge of surgery non-stock and stock reporting items in order to coordinate purchases with OR, purchasing, Lead Supply Chain Operations Tech and/or Coordinator as appropriate.
* INVENTORY
Periodically performs quality control checks to verify the accuracy of the Supply Chain Operations information management system as compared to actual product on hand. Makes recommendations for changes in par levels for supplies and linen to the Lead Technician or Coordinator.
Determines needs for supply replacement from predetermined established inventory levels. Notifies Lead Supply Chain Operations Technician of critical stock balances.
Utilizes computer information systems for look-ups of on-hand quantities, unit of issue, catalog numbers, entering requisitions and purchase orders, entering counts for par refills to produce pick lists and for location of supplies within the warehouse.
* EQUIPMENT
Receives, distributes and stores reusable equipment managed by Supply Chain Operations Department (i.e., IV pumps, PCA pumps, Plum pumps, Excels, rental beds, etc.). Monitors equipment inventories and ensures adequate supplies to meet business needs.
Cleans, disinfects and prepares equipment for use following standardized procedures utilizing proper disinfectants and in accordance with infection control guidelines.
Examines equipment for defects and reports observed defects to Bio-Medical Department.
Makes rounds to all patient rooms and equipment locations to scan the equipment for accurate record of all equipment locations. Utilizes scanners at patient bed side to record patient name and room number and equipment ordered to ensure correct patient charges are submitted. Transports equipment to and from the various inpatient hospital units as needed.
Performs data entry of charges for rental equipment and pumps into the patient billing system.
* CLEANING
Cleans shelves in the warehouse using proper infection control procedures on a monthly basis.
Keeps work area free of obstacles and clean of paper and boxes by crushing and/or baling boxes.
Sweeps the floors daily or as needed.
* UPDATING
Inspects assigned sections and/or aisles within the warehouse for products that are outdated or are nearing their expiration dates ensuring that no outdated product is issued.
* ORIENTATION/TRAINING
Performs all of the duties of a Supply Chain Operations Technician as needed to maintain production levels and meet customer/business needs.
Participates in the orientation and training of staff. Coordinates closely with the Lead Supply Chain Operations Technician and/or Coordinator regarding any orientation/training issues. Acts as a resource to other Supply Chain Operations Technician staff assisting with questions and problem resolution.
Utilizes performance improvement principles to assess and improve quality. Assists the Lead Supply Chain Operations Technician in maintaining all quality control standards in the distribution section. Performs studies and/or inspections and prepares reports as requested.

* Instrument assembly and packaging: Identifies and inspects instruments for cleanliness and functionality.Correctly assembles instruments and packages them appropriately to set standards as it relates to validated sterilization method. Must be familiar with the various packaging materials available for sterilization and must be able to select the appropriate packaging for the item and sterilization process. Must be able to correctly identify a multitude of different instruments and how to properly process them
* Sterilization/High Level Disinfection (HLD): Selects appropriate sterilization or high-level disinfection methods.Identifies and follows correct principles of sterilization/HLD. Properly documents and verifies sterilization loads and biological tests to determine the efficacy of the sterilization process. Must be able to understand the advantages and limitations of each sterilization method andbe able to demonstrate competency in using all equipment used for sterilization and HLD. Correctly identifies when and how to safely use different sterilization/HLD methods available.
* Understands and utilizes established principles and procedures that are required to insure that the sterilization process will be effective, as defined by regulatory agencies. The Forensic Nurse Examiner (FNE) will provide timely, non-judgmental, compassionate care to adult and pediatric victims of physical and sexual assault. The sexual assault nurse examiner (SANE) exam may include a medical-forensic exam, evidence collection, prophylaxis for pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections, photographic documentation, and referrals for appropriate medical and psychological follow-up, and may support and participate in legal proceedings. The non-fatal strangulation (NFS) exam may include a medical-forensic exam with evidence collection, photographic documentation, referrals as stated above, and participation in subsequent legal proceedings. The FNE may perform other forensic evaluations and collect evidence as needed.
