As a Team Partner in the Maintenance Department, you will be responsible for carrying out all corrective, preventative, and predictive maintenance on fleet vehicles to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation. In addition, you will be responsible for maintaining fleet vehicles in a safe working condition meeting DOT or other regulatory requirements. At UniFirst we have a standard Monday - Friday work week with periodic and weekend overtime. We have an immediate opening and provide on the job training.

What you'll be doing:
Ensure all assigned vehicles are properly registered and compliant with current plates, inspections, and documentation.
Complete all scheduled preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and maintain fleet performance.
Perform corrective and predictive maintenance to ensure vehicles are in safe, roadworthy condition and meet DOT and other regulatory standards.
Maintain vehicle appearance to align with UniFirst branding and cleanliness standards.

Perform additional tasks as directed by leadership to support overall fleet operations.
Qualifications
What we're looking for:
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Must be at least 21 years old.
Associate's degree from an accredited technical school or equivalent experience preferred.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
Must meet all DOT regulatory requirements.
CDL license is a strong plus, preferred for performing road tests and servicing Class A vehicles
Strong diagnostic skills with GM drivability; diesel experience is a plus.
Willingness to work overtime and perform occasional road calls.
3 - 5 years of hands-on experience with medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair, including: Preventative Maintenance, tire & wheel service, air & hydraulic brake systems, drivetrain and suspension, electrical and A/C systems computerized diagnostics.
Proficiency with diagnostic software and basic computer skills
Ability to lift up to 80 lbs. safely

AG Service Technician Bane-Welker is currently seeking an experienced Service Technician to join our Utica, OH Service Department. In this role the candidate's primary responsibilities will be to independently perform basic and complex diagnostic, service repair and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer owned agricultural equipment. This position will report to the Service Manager.
Technicians need mechanical skills and should have an aptitude for increasing these skills to expand the kinds of jobs they can perform. A “be-of-service” attitude is also important when dealing with customers since your customer satisfaction is so vital to the growth of the service department.
Principal Responsibilities:
Performs repair and maintenance work on equipment, in accordance with time schedules as assigned by service manager.
Make recommendations of additional needed work to the service manager and ensure the customer is notified.
Ensure that work assignment is correct, ask the service manager for clarification if there are questions.
Maintain tools and company equipment, notify service managers if tools need to be replaced
Observes all safety rules and consistently works in a safe manner - reports any injuries “immediately” to the service manager.
Ensure that your work area is clean, and you present yourself in a professional manner
Maintains and respects cleanliness of the customer's equipment.
Work as a team with the parts department and communicate the parts needed
Notifies the service manager if delays are expected, or if a part needs to be ordered.
Seek other opportunities when temporarily unable to finish the job
Demonstrate teamwork to co-workers and fellow employees as needed.
Accounts for all time and material used.
Maintains a consistent attendance record by clocking in and out daily showing job tickets, personal/vacation/sick time, etc.
Completes and submits all daily documentation to the service manager in a timely manner.

Bring value to the company by seeking areas of cost reductions or revenue increases and reports observations to the service manager.

Ability to diagnose and repair all AFS equipment (Monitors, Nav, autosteer,etc…)

Additional Responsibilities:
Transports equipment, or parts as needed. Always loading and securing carefully to ensure no damage by transport. Performs equipment checks both before and after transport to avoid transport damage claims and gives customer instructions for basic operation.
Performs set up or pre-delivery inspections on new or used equipment as prescribed by manufacturer's manual.
Performs all field service assignments promptly and efficiently with a minimum of non-billable comebacks.
