    Essential Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for assigned Production Department management to attain plant, business unit and corporate objectives. Develops production plan, directs production activities, and establishes priorities to assure optimum use of equipment, smooth product flow and timely shipment of parts to the customer. Develops a manufacturing plan for future operating periods by forecasting customer needs, taking into account current inventory levels and labor availability. Supports the manufacturing process by ordering raw materials and scheduling timely deliveries while maintaining required inventory levels of these materials. Coordinates production activities with procurement, maintenance and quality control activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines and equipment. Maintains good communication to expedite the flow of information to all departments so adequate planning of equipment downtime and maintenance does not negatively impact the production needs of the facility. Consults with engineering personnel relative to the modification of machines and equipment in order to improve production and the quality of the product. Assures customer service satisfaction by providing communication on changes in manufacturing, shipping and/or delivery of quality product. Directs the activities of the Shipping/Receiving Department to assure proper inventory levels of both raw materials and finished good are maintained and proper storage provided thereof staging for on-time delivery to the customer. Compiles, stores and retrieves production data. Promotes and enforces the maintenance of safe and healthy working conditions within the facility. Establishes and maintains excellent labor/management relations. Oversees fair and consistent application of company policies and procedures to assist us in a union free environment. Supervisory Responsibilities: Manages directly and indirectly through subordinate supervisors employees in the following departments: Materials, Production and Shipping/Receiving. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
