+ Complete all laboratory work requests assigned. Also participate in performing all pertinent tests for COA's.
+ Maintain an orderly file on work performed. This file is to contain all pertinent information regarding all work undertaken.
+ Observe and conduct practical evaluation tests as required. These tests include density test, flow tests, exotherms, screen analyses, moisture contents, bond detection, casting set times, workability tests, magnetic testing, etc.
+ Complete work assigned in evaluating raw material samples received.
+ Assist in the evaluation of all technical problems as requested. This could involve helping the Quality Assurance Department examine suspect raw material or finished product. This work is to be done at the direction of the Quality Supervisor, or Manager of Quality.
+ When requested, write reports on work completed and observations made.
+ Assist in the calculating, recording, and maintaining of up-to-date files on all tests and screen analyses performed.
+ Under the supervision of the Quality Assurance Supervisor, predict formula changes necessary by computations of variations in raw materials, and prepare batch sheets reflecting such changes prior to issuing to batching crews.
+ Prior to issuing to batching crews, be sure that the use of available re-blend is included on all batch sheets. Also make certain re-blend is used and reported; to verify the accuracy of Re-blend Inventory.
+ Help check the batches by watching the Batch Crew for batching errors and by observing the batches while being placed into the mixer systems. Check all labeling and dating of raw materials to ensure they are correct.
+ Verify all finished products are labeled and packaged correctly. Complete all QA tests and place the data into the computer system. Collect storage samples and keep them in order. Make certain all finished products are approved with a sticker before being placed into inventory.
+ Assist in the training of any new QA Technician, Sales Trainee, or other employee, as needed.
+ Assist in maintaining an orderly plant layout, particularly in raw materials, and with emphasis on the use of partial pallets, shortest rows of materials, and test materials. Also maintain all QA offices and keep them neat, clean and orderly.

Hiring: Label Room Technician 1st Shift (6:30am-3:00pm) Join our team as a Label Room Technician and become an expert in receiving, issuing, creating, and inspecting labels in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Work Instruction (WI)!
What You'll Be Doing:
Processes receipt of product labels as inventory in SAP and maintains all related documentation and records.
Collaborates with other departments to investigate and resolve issues with receipts, and to prioritize inspections, put-aways and quarantine releases.
Supports the production department through issuing product labels to the process order, and staging label cages.
Processes label returns from the production floor in SAP and completes the label reconciliation to ensure accurate inventory balances.
Performs physical inventory checks for labels; identifies discrepancies and processes corrections as needed.
Operates and maintains auto-label equipment to ensure labels are processed ahead of production schedules.
What We Need from You:
High school diploma, GED or equivalent degree required
Previous 1 year experience in a Warehouse clerical role is strongly preferred along with previous SAP experience
Knowledge of FDA Good Manufacturing Practices, OSHA Safety Requirements and EPA regulations
Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and a proactive mindset
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and wear required PPE
Must be able to sit for long periods of time in front of a computer, stand for long periods of time, walk, use hands to handle and feel, reach with hands or arms, stoop, crouch, talk, hear, push and pull

JOB SUMMARY: In this role, you will help sustain Mennel's tradition of excellence established in 1886 as well as support our food safety programs and mission to reliably deliver superior quality, uniformity, and service. The purpose of this position is to meet and exceed expectations of our internal and external customers by conducting required testing ensure compliance with internal/external specifications and all food safety programs.
PRIMARY WORK SHIFT: Works shift as assigned and overtime as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for testing, and reporting of all analyses for both internal and external customers

Promptly communicates important quality, safety, and security concerns to co-workers, and Quality Assurance Manager.
Calibrate and/or trouble-shoot each analysis, maintaining calibration logs for each of the testing procedures.
Maintains a clean and orderly work area in addition to assigned sanitation duties.

This position has no supervisory duties.
QUALIFICATIONS:

A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent required. An Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in cereal science, food science, chemistry, biology, biochemistry, analytical instrument, microbiology or related field preferred.
Ability to effectively prioritize and organize tasks and follow through to ensure completion of assignments in an efficient and high-quality manner.
Knowledge of and ability to operate Microsoft office software, Internet and Intranet and other computer software to complete essential duties and responsibilities.
Ability to maintain open communication with both internal and external customers.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, memos, procedures, and plans. Ability to write, complete checklists and other basic documentation and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information or data in one-on-one and small group situations to co-workers, supervisors, and managers.
