Budget Title: Instructional Support Assistant (SL-1)
Salary: $22.69 hourly (part-time, temporary)
This position provides exemplary direct customer service at service points and supports a team environment. This position is responsible for contributing to the successful direct delivery of library services, such as, but not limited to, technology checkout, course reserves, reservable rooms, shelving/paging of materials. It serves as a resource for student assistants, who provide supplemental support at service locations and completing departmental tasks.
The Access Services Assistant reports to the Director for Access Services.
The primary hours for this position will cover nights and weekends at the Bartle and Science Library locations, not to exceed 18.50 hours per week. May occasionally be deployed to the Downtown Center location during staffing shortages.
This position is expected to last through May 15, 2026.
Duties and Responsibilities:
May serve as building opener and/or closer.
Provide direct customer service, and can anticipate providing direct customer service for a majority of scheduled hours. During periods of low activity, the position is expected to complete related tasks that can be performed at the service point.
Provides exemplary direct customer service at service points, including directional assistance, making appropriate referrals, and assisting with basic access to resources. This includes, but is not limited to, answering inquiries via phone, email, and LibAnswers ticketing system.
Provides direct circulation services, such as checking materials in/out, including course reserves, and shelving and paging of materials.
Contributes to the successful direct delivery of library services, such as, but not limited to, technology checkout, basic technology troubleshooting, room and equipment reservations, course reserves, reservable rooms, patron accounts, and shelving/paging of materials.
Retrieves items paged for the Hold Shelf or Interlibrary Loan and places them in their designated locations daily.
Provides facility support such as assisting with opening/closing procedures, tidying of spaces and shelves, reporting facility concerns, and facilitating lost and found items.
Serves as a resource for student assistants, who provide supplemental support at service locations and completing departmental tasks.
Contributes to the overall positive experience of the library community and supports a team environment.
Participates in a work culture that promotes diversity and anti-racism and actively works to eliminate or mitigate the effects of systemic racism and bias.

Salary: $45,372 (full-time, temporary)
The Manzano Lab, located at Binghamton University, is seeking a Lab Assistant to participate in conducting behavioral experiments probing circuit development in mice brains. Research will use mice to model neuronal development. These experiments will entail the creation, validation, and running of behavioral experiments on pre-adolescent, adolescent, and adult animals. The Lab Assistant will also have the opportunity to use novel imaging techniques to probe changes in neuronal processing as mice grow from adolescents into adults. Additionally, Lab Assistants will have the opportunity to get involved in the data analysis of behavioral and calcium imaging data. This would involve data processing and computational analysis, in Python or Matlab. Research will use mice to model neuronal development. For more information visit the Manzano Lab Website. Key Responsibilities
* Performing in vivo calcium imaging experiments aimed at understanding how neural circuits generate complex behaviors in pre-adolescent, adolescent, and adult mice
* Performing all aspects of experiment, including surgeries, behavioral assays, and histology
* Maintaining the animal colony
* Processing calcium imaging data to extract calcium traces via software packages
* Analyzing and interpreting data - applying systems neuroscience approaches to examine high-dimensional neural data. Approaches used include neural network-based approaches, Bayesian inference, and more
* Assisting with the oversight of day-to-day functions of the lab and shared lab spaces dedicated to running research studies

Operations:
* Install Windows/Macintosh desktop applications, computer hardware and peripheral devices for use in administrative offices and instructional spaces.

Major Responsibilities
Program Administration:
* Provide leadership, budget, and fiscal management, and supervision of all activities and program development undertaken by EOP, including the summer and orientation programs for students and parents. These activities include curriculum development and design as it pertains to the program's instructional, tutoring, counseling, mentoring, academic and career advising components.
* Work with faculty and students to achieve program goals, student learning outcomes and EOP performance-based outcomes.
* Collaborate with relevant institutional departments to facilitate student outreach, recruitment, financial aid processing, admission, and enrollment activities.
* Facilitate and encourage professional development opportunities.
* Manage the summer and academic year budgets. Authorize and administer all expenditures made by the program.
* Represent the program positively to the University, relevant government bodies, the public and prospective students.
Program Development/ Implementation/ Assessment:
* Develop, implement, and assess all program components, e.g. pre-freshman and transfer student programming. Oversee academic support services and tutoring provided to students by EOP.
* Monitor student progress, track student success, and document the collective student achievement of EOP in accordance with campus wide metrics including retention, time to degree, and graduation rate.
* Establish and maintain records on student performance and program effectiveness.
* Ensure records and reports are accurately maintained, prepared and distributed.
* Provide academic support to EOP students as needed to support their academic preparation.
* Teach during the Summer Institute, as needed.
* Provide enrollment statistics and create an expenditure plan to secure and allocate grant funding.
Functional and Supervisory Relationships
Supervise EOP staff by providing training, continuous support, and managing performance through the development of annual goals and timely completion of evaluations.
* Reports to the Assistant Vice Provost for Student Achievement
* Supervises an EOP Counselor, Assistant Director, and an Administrative Assistant
* Works closely with Directors within Student Affairs, Associate Deans of each School, Director of Admissions, Director of Financial Aid
Required Qualifications
* Master's Degree
* Experience in higher education working in opportunity or bridge programs, TRIO programs, or student access programs
* Experience working with diverse student populations
* Experience with evidence-based strategies to recruit underrepresented and socio-economically disadvantaged groups and to promote their self-efficacy, persistence, and retention
* Experience in strategic planning and assessment of programs, services, and/or student learning outcomes
* Experience developing and giving oral presentations explaining/informing various individuals about policies and procedures
* Experience in budgetary management
* Experience with student-based databases/systems
* Ability to work occasional weekends and evenings as necessary
* Ability to travel to state or regional meetings. Overnight stay may be required

Major Responsibilities
Donor Relationship Strategy and Engagement:
* Identify, qualify, and manage a portfolio of existing and prospective donors with a wide range of giving capacity.
* Cultivate relationships through personalized outreach, including face-to-face and virtual visits.
* Solicit blended gifts, including leadership-level ($1,000+) and major gifts ($25,000+), in alignment with college priorities.
* Ensure all donors receive a positive and personally satisfying donor experience.
* Engage and meet with prospects in person and virtually.
* Steward donors through timely acknowledgments, impact reporting, and meaningful engagement.
* Collaborate with development officers, Alumni Engagement staff and the President's Office to create, plan, and attend donor events that enhance relationships and fundraising priorities.
* Travel nationally to cultivate, solicit and steward constituents.
* Represent the college during donor visits, alumni events, and other external engagements.
Fundraising Analytics and Prospect Insights:
* Maintain accurate and timely records in the donor management system, including actions, cultivation, proposals, solicitations, and stewardship activities.
* Prepare quarterly progress reports for the Cortland College Foundation Board meetings and attend related committee meetings.
* Track key performance metrics such as visits, dollars raised, and solicitations completed.
* Collaborate with advancement information services and use other forms of social media to identify new prospects for cultivation.
* Analyze donor data to advance cultivation strategies and improve fundraising outcomes.
* Utilize analytics and prospect insights as part of the discovery process for new constituents.
Collaboration and Strategic Alignment:
* Collaborate with campus partners and key influencers to help align donor philanthropic interests with the college's strategic priorities.
* Work closely with other development officers and Advancement colleagues to support integrated fundraising efforts.
* Participate in regularly scheduled development-related meetings and attend appropriate on- and off-campus events.
Functional and Supervisory Relationships
* Reports to Director of Development.
* Works with alumni, parents, faculty and staff.
* Works collaboratively with institutional advancement staff.
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree.
* Professional work experience in fundraising, marketing, public relations, higher education, sales or related field.
* Ability to travel monthly. Travel includes local and national areas through independent planning and scheduling trips/donor visits.
* Computer proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, database, and presentation software.
* Valid driver's license.
* Availability for periodic evening and weekend work.
Preferred Qualifications
* Master's degree.
* Three years' professional work experience in fundraising, marketing, public relations, higher education, sales or related field.
* Proficiency with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge/NXT, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, ASANA.

Major Responsibilities
Career Coaching & Student Advisement
* Provide individualized and group-based career coaching to students via in-person appointments, group sessions, and virtual platforms.
* Contribute to daily delivery of Career Services functions and activities such as resume, cover letter, and graduate school statement reviews, mock interviews, and job search coaching.
* Serve as the lead office contact for teacher certification advisement, support, and outreach for campus and local community including, but not limited to, students, alumni, and faculty.
Data Assessment & Operations
* Coordinate the annual First Destinations (graduate outcomes) Survey (FDS) including:
* Design and develop processes for collecting and analyzing annual cohort data.
* Communicate with internal and external audiences on FDS data requests and communications.
* Monitor local and national trends in first destinations report standards and protocols.
* Compile, interpret, and present FDS data to campus stakeholders in written and visual formats.
* Maintain data integrity and ensure alignment with reporting standards.
Program Management & Supervision
* Manage Career Peer Mentors (CPM) program by overseeing recruitment, hiring, onboarding, supervision, and performance evaluation.
* Coordinate annual program marketing, develop and deliver training curriculum, and assess CPM learning outcomes to ensure continuous program improvement.
Campus Engagement & Collaboration
* Design and deliver engaging workshops, classroom presentations, and community presentations on career development and teacher certification topics.
* Develop effective marketing materials, including digital content, for programming and services for optimal engagement.
* Collaborate with marketing and communications staff to ensure consistent, effective branding in marketing materials.
* Serve as the Career Services representative on the SUNY Cortland Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Advisory Committee.
* Participate in campus-wide committees where appropriate.

* Reports to director of career services.
* Supervises student staff - Career Peer Mentors (CPMs).
* Works with students, faculty, and alumni.
Required Qualifications
