Building incredible projects requires exceptional people. We are seeking an Estimator (HVAC) for our PA MCaP division. Why We Need You! The Role The Estimator is responsible for evaluating bid specifications, analyzing blueprints, proposals and other documentation, to successfully bid and win projects. Accountabilities: Estimating Process Develop and provide complete, accurate and timely detailed estimates representing a projects mechanical/plumbing system costs, associated general conditions, required overhead and profit Maintain all files of working bid documents, notes and assumptions of project estimates and coordinate with the project team to ensure a smooth transition. Perform all work in accordance with company processes and procedures. Use processes and procedures to eliminate bid errors and omissions. Prepare complete bid documentation prior to bid closing with management. Proposals and RFP compliance Review proposal specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meetings, etc. to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate. Populate clarifications, exceptions and bid forms. Plan/Spec Compliance Identify any unique requirements of any proposals and incorporate the related costs into those project estimates. Take-Off Reading and understanding of mechanical blueprints and other specifications for takeoffs. Perform quantity take-off of Plumbing, HVAC, and Process Piping for plan/spec and design build projects. Vendor/Sub Quotes Work with and obtain pricing from various vendors and subcontractors through completion of bids. Qualifications: Skills A solid understanding and broad knowledge of Plumbing, HVAC and Process systems for commercial and institutional construction, including hospitals, schools, R&D facilities and multi-story buildings. Strong computer and technology skills including estimating software such as Quickpen. Ability to prioritize, set goals and manage multiple tasks under time constraints and meet strict deadlines Ability to read architectural, structural and mechanical plans & specifications and be familiar with a variety of plumbing, HVAC and Process systems and terminology Demonstrate strong math aptitude, organization, verbal, written and analytical skills Knowledge of Plumbing and Mechanical theory and code to identify issues with the designs or conflicts with other trades Education and Experience Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering Preferred 2+ years experience in commercial plumbing or HVAC estimating Must be comfortable working with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors and vendors Physical Requirements Ability to sit for long periods of time, walk, stand, bend, stoop, use hands and fingers & lifting What We Offer Binsky values the well-being of its employees and offers competitive wages and a range of benefits: Medical, Dental and Vision benefits 401k with company contribution 8 paid holidays per year Paid Time Off Binsky is an EOE. Qualifications: Skills Solid understanding of construction means and methods associated with the renovation and construction of commercial and industrial buildings. The ability to decipher various project schedule formats and impacts on mechanical work, working knowledge of civil, architectural, mechanical and electrical scopes of work. Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects at the same time. Education and Experience Bachelors Degree preferred. Experience in construction, sales or business development a plus. This role has direct oversite and control of all project activities. The position requires high-level client service and establishing long-term partnerships. Accountability Project Operations Manages overall safety of personnel on a project during construction activities. Enforces safety policies and procedures. Reviews client's specific safety procedures and develops a site-specific manual to be utilized. Oversees and ensures weekly safety meetings are conducted and documented in the field. Monitors coordination and design efforts for required scope of work. Manages labor goals and affirmative action plans, awareness of labor relations with unions regarding jurisdiction over a project. Reviews design documents prior to field installation. Ensures implementation of B&S QA/QC program. Identifies and communicates opportunities for pre-fabrication on the project; reviews union requirements for fabrication and compliance; monitors progress on, and coordinates installation of prefabricated sections in the field. Change Order Tracking Coordinates and monitors cost events pricing, Communicates monthly billings with accounting. Scheduling and Labor Tracking Generates, updates, and maintains the overall construction schedule. Reviews productivity control plan for fab shop and field activities and implements metrics. Reviews purchasing status and expediting equipment. Supervises and schedules all subcontract work under their direction and works with other trades impacted by it. Monitors overall job performance by tracking labor and materials costs timely and adjusts schedules and performance as necessary to achieve budgeted goals. Coordinates staffing on construction projects. Maintains client relations and addresses/resolves issues that come up. Processes and reviews projects invoicing with owner and subcontractors. Identities problem areas early and develop contingency plans for the successful delivery of the project and schedule. Qualifications: Skills Solid understanding of construction means and methods associated with the renovation and construction of commercial and industrial buildings. Strong computer and technology skills include project management software, Microsoft Outlook, smart phones, and other software used in the construction industry. The ability to decipher various project schedule formats and impacts on mechanical work, working knowledge of civil, architectural, mechanical and electrical scopes of work. Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects at the same time. Education and Experience Bachelor's Degree preferred. Experience in construction, sales or business development a plus. Successful management of large and complex projects for sophisticated client's healthcare, laboratory, infrastructure, higher education, industrial or R&D facilities is preferred. Lean Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) experience a plus.
