As a bioinformatics analyst, you will work with large databases of data such as genomics or studying different cells and molecules. You will need good writing skills since you will be required to write scientific papers.

To become a bioinformatics analyst, you will need at minimum a bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, or a related field. Most employers, however, prefer you have a master's or Ph.D. You will also need a background in physiology, biochemistry, and genetics and several years of research experience. You will also need to know how to communicate so you can present data and findings.
