    Bioinformatics research technician job in Fairview Park, OH

    Cleveland Metroparks is seeking applicants to work with the Aquatic Research & Management program and assist with stream assessments, fisheries management, and other aquatic resource management projects throughout the Park District. This position reports to the Aquatic Biologist at the Rocky River Management Center, Rocky River Reservation, but will work at sites across Cleveland Metroparks. The position duration will range from 3-6 months (up to 400 hours). Assists with stream habitat assessments using standardized Ohio EPA protocols. Samples and identifies aquatic macroinvertebrates, salamanders, and fish. Performs aquatic resource management, including invasive species control, nuisance weed management, and habitat enhancement/restoration. Performs fisheries management, including community assessments, sportfish stocking, and electrofishing. Works in aquatic environments, including wading in streams/rivers and working from small watercraft.
