The Warmflash Lab investigates how signaling pathways such as BMP, Wnt, and Nodal guide spatial patterning and cell fate decisions, using innovative tools like micropatterned culture systems and live-cell imaging. As a research assistant, you will contribute to this cutting-edge work by maintaining iPSC cultures, supporting experimental workflows, and assisting with data collection and analysis. In addition to bench responsibilities, you will also play a key role in the research administration of the lab. Full-time Description Research Lab Technician I Venesco LLC is looking for Research Lab Techs to support the 711th Human Performance Wing (711 HPW). Candidates must have at least three (3) years' demonstrated experience in laboratory animal research within the last six (6) years; OR five (5) years' demonstrated experience with hands-on emergency/specialty animal medicine. Additionally, experience with husbandry for small research animal species and health checks is required. Base in Ohio, is the first human-centric warfare wing to consolidate human performance research, education and consultation under a single organization. Established under the Air Force Research Laboratory, the 711 HPW is comprised of the Human Effectiveness Directorate (RH), the United States Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine (USAFSAM). Responsibilities: Duties may include some or all of the following, depending on work assignments and laboratory area: * Reviews orders for various tests requested by the provider/physician and converts these requests to correct tests in the LIS. * Obtains, receives, and processes specimens prior to testing. * Utilizes sterile specimen handling techniques when needed during specimen handling, accessioning, and processing. * Performs pre-analytical tasks correctly and according to established/approved protocols. * Performs analytical tasks correctly and according to established/approved protocols. * Able to prepare specimens, as needed, for send out testing. * Performs duties of a phlebotomist as required. * Ensures compliance of all regulatory and safety standards. * Collects laboratory glassware from all laboratory departments and research; follows pre-treatment/special handling procedures on glassware; packages and sterilizes supplies/glassware according to procedure; loads and operates laboratory glassware washer and sterilizer; process glassware; deliver glassware to all Lab Departments and other labs as assigned. * Collects specimens and slides for Histology Lab as needed. * Other duties as required.
