ABOUT THE POSITION
The Biology Learning Center (BLC) serves about 3000 students annually at Normandale Community College (NCC) and is a unique learning facility that provides individualized and self-paced laboratory experiences for students. The College Laboratory Assistant 2 position exists to assist in the operation and maintenance of the BLC particularly in solution, media, and material preparation, and to provide assistance to students. Under limited supervision the incumbent performs technical work within the BLC; Prepares and sets up lab activities; assists and tutors students in carrying out laboratory experiments and assignments; oversees daily activities of the laboratory; performs related work as required.
This position reports to the Academic Operations Supervisor and works collaboratively with Biology faculty, Lab staff and student workers to actively advance the college's strategic goals, including to achieve equity in educational outcomes and to support a culturally responsive and service-oriented culture, through individual and departmental efforts.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
ESSENTIAL:
These qualifications are required to move forward; as such, (ensure your application contains descriptions of your education and work experience sufficient to demonstrate competency in each of the following):
Associate degree or higher degree in biology or related sciences AND 1 academic year of teaching/tutoring experience in biology at the high school level or above OR an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
PREFERRED:
Bachelor's degree in biology.
Ability to work with students and staff from diverse backgrounds.
Knowledge of microscopy, bacteriology technique, aseptic technique, dissection, pH meters, spectrophotometers, analytical balances, preparation of chemical reagents and media.

This role will work closely with the PI and project team to convert existing datasets into publication-ready results by conducting rigorous analyses, generating figures/tables, drafting manuscript sections, and maintaining reproducible documentation. The successful candidate is independent, deadline-driven, and comfortable collaborating across disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
Single-cell & immuno-oncology data analysis
Perform QC, preprocessing, integration, and annotation of single-cell RNA-seq and flow cytometry datasets from immuno-oncology studies.
Analyze in vivo histology data demonstrating hyperplasia and tumor development in in vivo model systems +/- therapy.
Identify and interpret immune/tumor states (e.g., NK/T cell subsets, myeloid populations), differential abundance/expression, pathway/activity scoring, and cell-cell interaction analyses in the context of tumor development and disease progression.
Produce publication-quality visualizations (UMAP/TSNE, dot/violin plots, heatmaps, composition plots, trajectory/pseudotime where relevant) and concise analytical summaries for internal review.
Ensure reproducibility: maintain well-documented scripts/notebooks, organized outputs, and clear analysis logs suitable for Methods reporting.
Manuscript writing & figure assembly
Draft and revise Results, Methods, and figure legends (and support Introduction/Discussion as needed) for immunology/cancer manuscripts.
Build and refine figure panels and tables; ensure consistency between text, statistics, and underlying data.
Manage references and formatting and support journal submission requirements (as assigned).
Incorporate PI/co-author feedback efficiently; support responses to reviewer comments if revisions occur during the appointment.
Project coordination & quality
Track deliverables and deadlines; maintain version control for documents/figures and clear handoffs to the team.
Follow data governance, confidentiality, and research integrity standards; handle sensitive research data appropriately.
Required Qualifications
M.S. required (or higher) in Immunology with additional knowledge in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, and Biostatistics.
Demonstrated experience analyzing single-cell datasets (sc RNA-seq required; additional modalities a plus).
Proficiency in R and/or Python for analysis and visualization (e.g., Seurat/Scanpy and relevant ecosystem tools).
Experience with immune-oncology analytical workflows: batch correction/integration, cell-type annotation, gene set enrichment, single-cell integration, as well as detailed analyses of flow cytometry and histology datasets
Experience with and ability to communicate results to mixed wet-lab/computational audiences; ability to translate analyses into clear narrative text.
Proficiency in FlowJo, Prism, and Microsoft Word.
Proven ability to produce publication-ready figures and contribute substantially to scientific manuscripts.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a remote, deadline-driven setting.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior authorship or major contribution to peer-reviewed publications in immunology and/or cancer.

A Laboratory Research Assistant position is available to work with Dr. Kelly Dorgan at The University of Texas Marine Science Institute in Port Aransas, TX, starting in February 2026 (negotiable). Research in the lab integrates ecology, biomechanics (including engineering theory and methods), and invertebrate behavior, morphology and physiology with engineering theory and methods, including development of new instrumentation. This position is intended for a recent graduate (BS) looking to gain research experience before graduate school and will involve field and lab work as well as helping to manage the lab, including purchasing and organizing supplies. Position Function
The Nwosu lab has an open position for a Postdoctoral Associate. We are seeking to hire a versatile Postdoctoral Associate with experience in a number of areas of cancer research, cancer metabolism, immunometabolism, genomics and therapeutics. The candidate should be highly enthusiastic about conducting cancer research and should ideally be committed to pursuing a career in the cancer field as demonstrated by track record of prior publications and related accomplishments from doctoral studies. The project will require the use of cell lines and mouse models to mechanistically determine how tumor-intrinsic and systemic metabolism impacts cancer therapy. The Research Technician (Agricultural Engineering) will:
* Install and maintain sensors, instrumentation, data logging systems, and UAVs for field experiments.
* Analyze and manage the UAV data.
* Supervise and work with undergraduate students to conduct experiments and perform data collection in lab and field environments.
* Assistance with preparing research findings for presentation and publications.
* Setup and help in managing precision agriculture lab.
Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* M.S. in Agricultural Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar field is required.
* Excellent verbal, presentation, and scientific writing skills.
* Knowledge and experience using Python or R programming languages for analyzing agricultural numerical and imagery data.
Preferred Qualifications
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Evidence of prior research experience with sensors, Arduino/Raspberry Pi boards is preferred.
* Prior experience using drones for agriculture is preferred.
* Evidence of working in a team and taking responsibility for assigned tasks.
* Familiarity with agricultural production systems is a plus.
