Biomedical Systems Engineer

The Role

The demand for remote health monitoring and chronic disease management will continue to grow exponentially as the continuum of care extends to remote settings. Analog Devices (ADI) is well positioned to leverage its core sensor and signal processing technologies to improve the quality and availability of patient care. The Digital Healthcare Systems team is looking for an energetic Biomedical Systems Engineer in our Istanbul office to develop breakthrough remote patient monitoring (RPM) solutions for wellness and chronic disease management. The ideal candidate will excel at the intersection of designing hardware and algorithms and acquiring disease-relevant physiological signals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

* Expand Digital Healthcare team's understanding of detectable biophysical and biochemical phenomena as they relate to disease physiology.
* Engage with external stakeholders (clinicians, researchers, and customers) to uncover insights and turn application requirements into clear technical specifications.
* Be a hands-on member of multi-disciplinary teams of HW, SW and Algorithm Engineers to prototype and develop breakthrough medical systems.
* Support clinical validation activities, engage with external parties to conduct clinical studies, oversee data collection, and ensure physiologically relevant data analysis and interpretation.

Minimum Qualifications

* MS degree in Biomedical Engineering or EE/CS with Biomedical Focus.
* Previous research experience developing wearable (invasive or non-invasive) RPM medical devices.
* Familiarity with a typical medical system development flow.
* Must enjoy working with and incorporating feedback from end-users.

Additional Desirable Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

* Research or Commercial experience in clinical testing/validation of medical technologies.
* Background in optical RPM system design.
* Background working with healthcare professionals.
* Enjoys developing RPM algorithms OR developing and debugging mixed-signal hardware.
* Strong presentation and technical documentation skills.

The Biomedical Engineer plans, trains others, and installs, maintains and repairs sophisticated medical equipment and systems utilized in the diagnosis treatment and monitoring of patients.
Essential Responsibilities:

+ Working under the supervision of a manager or designee, perform all phases of scheduled and corrective repairs of biomedical equipment and medical systems.

+ Perform pre-issue and asset accounting, equipment installation and de-installation of related equipment as needed.

+ Performs scheduled and unscheduled inspections, maintenance and electrical safety tests of biomedical equipment where applicable to maintain code compliance.

+ Responsible for documenting the results of all inspections, maintenance and tests.

+ Must work collaboratively with all other biomedical engineers specialties (Instrumentation, X-Ray, CT/MR, Diagnostic Ultrasound, Nuclear Med, Clinical Laboratory, RT/Anesthesia, Ophthalmology/Lasers, and Clinical Systems Integrations), KPIT, Business Partners, and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) representatives.

+ Individual is required to complete applicable documentation of all work performed, in a timely manner.

+ Frequent travel will be required for the Shared Services/Support biomed engineers to provide service support.

+ Occasional travel will be required for the Stationary Service Area Support biomed engineers to provide service support to other sites.

+ All biomed engineers will be required to travel to attend technical training.

+ Afterhours work may be required on a scheduled and nonscheduled basis to complete required work.

+ Will be assigned to weekday and weekend on-call schedule to perform emergency service.

+ Communication devices will be supplied and will need to be kept ON during duty hours.

Basic Qualifications:

Experience

Minimum four (4) years experience of formal and/or on the job training.

Additional Requirements:

+ Must have good driving record and maintain a valid unrestricted class C or better drivers license.

+ Must have experience and working knowledge of the medical equipment and systems in general instrumentation or the specialty area assigned and identified above.

+ Must be proficient operating PCs with Windows operating systems.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Qualified Candidates will be able to:
