Brian Cherico is the Chief Compliance and Privacy Officer for BioPlus. He has more than 25 years of experience as a healthcare compliance professional in the healthcare industry. After serving as in-house compliance counsel for a health insurer, Cherico focused on Medicare and Medicaid compliance and reimbursement issues for a pharmaceutical industry trade group in Washington, DC.

Over the years, Cherico has gained expertise with Medicare compliance, as well as HIPAA, HITECH, Stark, AKS, FWA, and COBRA, among other laws. His background includes conducting compliance investigations, drafting corporate policies and procedures, and providing compliance training webinars to staff. He’s a member of the bar and earned his law degree from George Mason University. Cherico graduated from Iona College in New York with a bachelor’s degree.
