    Position Status: Part-time Location: Tulsa Dream Center Classification: Non-Exempt The Tulsa Dream Center Lifeguard will monitor all pool attendees and provide rescue saving procedures as needed during the Tulsa Dream Center Summer Program beginning 6/6/2022-7/28/2022. This role will support students in the grades of PK-8 th grade students while swimming. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES This role will demonstrate a passion to instruct youth, specifically PK-8th grade students to learn new skills and teach water safety and provide rescue saving procedures. This role will be responsible to enforce procedures, rules, and regulations to students, alongside Swim Instructor as needed. Shares with swimmers pool regulations and water safety policies. Performs water rescues and administers first aid/CPR to swimmers in danger of drowning and/or adequately perform lifesaving procedures as necessary. Monitor students to always prevent accidents and injuries following internal/external processes. Enforces procedures, rules, and regulations to all students concerning standards of conduct, pool rules and water safety implementing ground rules for each swim session. Document and report all accidents and ensure appropriate documentation is turned into supervisor immediately. Report all incidents to supervisor in a timely manner. Identify incorrect swimming techniques and correcting students accordingly. This role will work closely with the TDC Education team; Site Coordinator and Director of Education to report any concerns with students or any incidents following internal/external protocols. Communicate any issues or problems to the TDC Education team and/or Program Director to ensure that problems are resolved quickly with students concerning pool safety or recommendations. This role will require making safe decisions on behalf of children and protect their well-being. Assist with management of confidential information concerning participants. Perform light cleaning; cleans pool daily, cleans windows, mops floors, and monitors surrounding areas for cleanliness as well Informs the Director of Operations and TDC Education team as needed for urgent pool maintenance needs; such as unable to clean a certain area or damage to pool or equipment arises. This job is Monday-Thursday, specific hours needed for this role will be discussed in the interview (but will be within the hours of (9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.). QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or GED. Proven experience working as a swim instructor or lifeguard. CPR, First Aid, and American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor or Basic Swim Instructor (BSI) certifications. Sound knowledge of proper swimming techniques and water safety rules and strong swimming abilities. Previous experience in a child supervision role preferred. Speaks English at an idiomatic level. Excellent conflict resolution skills. Effective communication skills. Ability to effectively plan, organize and implement swim lessons.
