Pros of working at BJ's Wholesale Club

Most middle management are ten players. Take care of hard workers.

Cons of working at BJ's Wholesale Club

Upper management inhumane, rude, labor stripped so lean they can not absorbs sickness or vacation and extra work out on those working. People fired for nonsense and good workers quitting due to being taken advantage of, disrespected, low pay, $.06 raises, and 26 yo GM that will bully anyone who lets them.

BJ's Wholesale Club benefits

No real perks to speak of beyond the normal. No employee discount.

Pros of working at BJ's Wholesale Club

The company was a great place to work 15 years ago since then it has become a good old boys club. They had a female CEO for years and after she “retired” the growth for females have stopped in this company and many female store managers have been targeted fired and replaced by men. There are entire Districts (10+ stores) with not one single female store manager. If by some chance they actually hire a female store manager they are paid 10-20k less than a male store manager with the same experience.

Cons of working at BJ's Wholesale Club

They do not promote women into Store Management. They have 10 male managers to one female. In the more “white” demographics they do not have people of color in management

weekly pay, very low expectations of what is acceptable for doing your job, easy money , kinda boring

Cons of working at BJ's Wholesale Club

management is a joke, supervisors ,leads ...don't appreciate when you help them w something so they can hang around a podium, cant get break coverage on time and if management thinks ur "adorable" then you can sit in hr office and gossip for 2 hours instead of working

Pros of working at BJ's Wholesale Club

They have decent benefits plans, the work itself isn't too bad most of the time, and you meet a lot of good people.

Cons of working at BJ's Wholesale Club

The pay is awful compared to Costco. They are insanely cheap, refusing to spend money on things like air conditioning, new technology, things for the break room, etc. The managers are extremely unresponsive and lazy. They also lack the ability to think independently. They pick their favorites (usually the lazier ones) and no matter how skilled you are or how hard you work, you get nothing out of it. If you work here, do the bare minimum because it's not worth it to give it your all.
