**Role Purpose**
Performs surgical duties for operating room procedures under the direct supervision of a registered nurse.
**Responsibilities**
+ Prepares operating room for surgical patient, reviews preference cards to determine surgeon needs, obtains the necessary supplies and equipment for the procedure, ensures cleanliness of room, and assists with opening sterile supplies.
+ Performs surgical scrub duties, and assists with the collection, identification, and disposition of cultures and specimens.
+ Assists in turning over of room, and ensures supplies, instruments, and equipment are returned to proper location.

Occupational Therapy provides therapy services for persons who have experienced a disruption in life roles (including self-maintenance, work and leisure) because of illness or injury and assists the individual with health maintenance and community re-entry by assisting the individual to achieve maximum functional ability.
**Preferred Qualifications**
**Role Purpose**
Provides skilled treatments to patients as prescribed by the physician and directed by a licensed occupational therapist as specified in their health care service setting.
**Responsibilities**
+ Implements treatment plan as developed by the licensed occupational therapist.
+ Collaborates with the licensed occupational therapist on an agreed upon frequency to assess and reassess patient's plan of care, treatment goals and interventions.
+ Documents patient progress in daily notes and weekly notes (as applicable), as well as contributes recommendations to patient's discharge note from occupational therapy
+ Reports on interventions and patient progress during assigned meetings and contributes to the screening and evaluation process.
+ Assists with guidance for clinical fieldwork students under the supervision of the licensed occupational therapist.
