Job DescriptionA Mobile Heavy Equipment Mechanic is responsible for repairing and maintaining machinery for Milhouse Forestry. They will inspect and diagnose malfunctions in heavy equipment such as giraffe, skid steer, forestry tractor, bucket truck, chip truck, chippers and fleet vehicles. They will travel to job sites to perform repairs and maintenance in the field. What you will do: Repairs and maintains large machinery, including forestry-related equipment, hydraulics, and mobile mechanical equipment. Testing equipment, analyzing malfunctions, and using manual and electrical tools to fix broken parts. Be able to assemble gear systems, fit bearings, weld broken parts, fabricate parts from sheet metal. Keep machines clean and functioning up to industry standards. Transports equipment as needed to ensure crews have the proper equipment needed. Working with vendors to understand warranty standards and specifications. Measures effectiveness in establishing appropriate reporting and control procedures; operating efficiently at the lowest cost; staying within established budgets. Maintain and update inventory of spare parts and tools. Adhere to company policies and safety guidelines.
