Our specialized team provides complete engineering, procurement, and construction new asset and operating asset services in the following areas: * Substations * Renewables Integration * HVDC/FACTS/STATCOM * Datacenters Integration * BESS Integration The Opportunity As an Electrical Project Engineer, you may have the opportunity to: * Function as a Technical Specialist or Project Lead Role, providing project coordination, guidance and expertise on assigned substation projects. * Support a variety of substation projects ranging up to 765kV in engineering detailed design and Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC). * Develop protection and control design deliverables including protective relays, panel arrangements, one line/single line diagrams, three line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, relay panel wiring and equipment wiring within high voltage substation designs. * Develop physical design deliverables including yard layout plans, grounding, lightning protection, control building arrangements, and auxiliary AC/DC power systems within high voltage substation designs. * Perform or oversee quality review of electrical substation design packages. * Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members. * Prepare electrical equipment specifications and Bills of Materials (BOM) for procurement and construction. * Communicate and coordinate project activities and activities with clients, vendors, subcontractors and other stakeholders. * Present proposals, designs and project activities. * Potential travel opportunities to client and vendor offices and/or project sites for design reviews, construction coordination and field verification. * Prepare and manage design budgets and schedules. * Provide support to business development or pursuit activities. Key Responsibilities * Continues developing knowledge and may provide guidance and direction on design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes and B&V policies. Provides technical guidance to others regarding projects and disciplines. * Independently applies knowledge and complies with B&V quality program relative to assigned tasks. May be responsible for ensuring compliance with B&V quality program. Provides related guidance and direction to others. May have responsibility of engineering resources for small groups of a single discipline. Start-Up & Ongoing Responsibilities Reporting into the Quality Department, the Metrologist is responsible for performing dimensional layouts on internally manufactured and externally supplied parts and assemblies. As part of the plant start up, this role will also support new equipment and process capability studies, programing and operating CMM's, as well as setting up lab systems such as calibration of tools and equipment. The successful individual will also participate in continuous product and process improvements to exceed the expectations of those we service by providing high quality, innovative, value added, luxury appliance products and services. Quality System Responsibilities: Proficiently uses CMM's, calipers, micrometers, pin gages, height gages, optical comparators, and other traditional measurement tools and equipment. Performs calibration on manufacturing and metrology tools and equipment Performs process capability studies. Creates and maintains CMM programs in lab and production environments. Works with business unit teams, engineering groups, and project teams to qualify internally manufactured products. Review and update the quality system requirements for new or revised products, including review and measurement of key control characteristics (KCC) identification and documentation. Work closely with engineering to support Factory Acceptance Testing, and trial builds of product throughout the system, gathering feedback for evaluation and analysis. Ensures that electrical distribution systems are safe, meet the requirements for electrical power, and comply with applicable codes by maintaining, modifying, and repairing those systems; monitoring, installing or replacing, and adjusting transformers to desired rated capacities in conformance with applicable electrical code requirements; calculating branch circuit loads, interpreting electrical wiring diagrams and schematics, and determining methods and requirements for wiring circuits. Reduces the need to purchase new/replacement electric motors by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electric motors, determining the interchangeability of parts on non-repairable motors, salvaging those parts as a replacement parts inventory, and replacing starter switches, electrical leads, fuses, insulators, gears, bushings and bearings, and other inoperative components. Provides technical assistance in the purchase of new or replacement electrical and electro-mechanical equipment or systems by reviewing and preparing equipment specifications, and advising the Maintenance Manager on equipment capability and compatibility, installation requirements and costs, and potential operations and maintenance expenses.
