    Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Performs all duties and activities in a manner that conforms to site specific safety requirements, company policy, state and federal regulations. * Before operating, make sure the motor is equipped with bar, jack, sand, two rerailers, fire extinguisher, and communications. Visual inspection for physical damage to electrical wires and couplers, also check braking system and gauges to assure proper operation. * Transport loaded supply cars, coal cars or track duster from the loading point to the dumping point. * Transport empty supply cars, coal cars or track duster from the dumping point to the loading point. * Maintain adequate communications between the operator and dispatcher. * Be alert to physical conditions in the environment such as track conditions, roof and rib. * Required to handle and transport supplies, gravel cars and rockdusters * May be required to load and unload supplies -- Supplyman Motorman only Other Duties/Responsibilities: * Operate other haulage equipment such as jeeps, portal buses, and track cleaner. * Operate smaller locomotives as well as larger ones. * Make major moves of equipment as directed between shifts or on weekends. * Perform other duties as required. Education, Qualifications and Training: Underground coal miner's certificate Annual 8 hour retraining On-the-job experience Vocational training (optional) Other qualifications as required by contract, regulations, and/or management

Maintaining equipment in ready, permissible condition there-by reducing down time and increasing cost effectiveness. * Maintain the mine electrical system in safe permissible condition. * Direct the electrical repair work to ensure safe efficient completion. * Supervise all maintenance to mobile and stationary equipment in assigned area. * Maintain communication equipment in operable condition. * Regular permissible checks on all electrical equipment. * Oversee the preventive maintenance program for assigned area. * See that all electrical/maintenance reports required by law or company policy are completed. * Regular inspection of equipment to ensure operating condition and removing from service for repair when required. * Order parts and supplies for repair work. * Participate in the evaluation of equipment life as to rebuilds or replacements. Knowledge, Skill and Abilities: * Working knowledge of UG electricity, electronics, hydraulics, mechanics and welding. * Able to read prints. * Skilled at troubleshooting for electrical and maintenance problems. Requirements: * WV/MSHA Underground Low, Medium and High Voltage Electrical certification required. * WV Underground Miner certification required. * Minimum 5 years underground maintenance experience required. * Minimum 2 years underground supervisory experience required. * WV Underground Mine Foreman certification (preferred). * Emergency medical technician (preferred).
