Part- Time Basic Skills Instructor - English Language Learner will provide instruction within our Learning Support Division. Position will be responsible for providing instruction in the areas of English Language Learning in accordance with the educational objectives of Blackhawk Technical College. Position will also develop, maintain, and upgrade curriculum in areas of instructional delivery. Will organize courses for non-native speakers with diverse activities and methods that cover all aspects of English language (speaking, writing, and comprehending). Instruction may held at any of the college locations or community partners and may include online instruction, embedded instruction in program courses, facilitating accelerated programs, and teaching daytime and evening courses.
Responsibilities
Provide instruction for assigned classes.
Engage in ongoing student learning assessment to determine effectiveness of instruction and curriculum.
Create a classroom environment that is respectful of diversity and demonstrates a commitment to multiculturalism.
Maintain accurate student records and reports as requested by administrative offices.
Identify students needing assistance and refer students to Student Services. Collaborate with Student Services and the Learning Resources staff members to help students adjust to the learning environment.
Remain current on developments in the teaching field so that instruction is delivered for a variety of learning styles, uses the latest supportive technology and utilizes alternative delivery methods.
Remain current on Best Practices on GED curriculum content in the discipline and use of continuous quality improvement techniques to update content and foster current evidence-based program assessment and improvement.
Develop and update or revise course curriculum as needed to maintain program relevance.
Prepare and update course syllabi (using BTC guidelines) for each course taught, and work cooperatively with members of other departments and programs in coordinating courses.
Assist in the enforcement of college regulations and report student conduct violations to administration.
Meet weekly office hours and other duties required to meet student, employer, and college needs.
Learning Support Manager & Department Chair in other duties as assigned.
Meet Wisconsin Technical College System professional development requirements through the Faculty Quality Assurance System.
Create individualized GED educational plans based on each student's needs.
Qualifications
Bachelor Degree in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL), English or Comparative Literature, or Linguistics, Communications, Creative Writing, or Journalism or BA/BS IN Education with a minor or 20 semester credits in communications/reading/writing taught at Elementary or Secondary Educational levels-and a total of 3 credits of Reading instruction and/or Teaching Methods or any combination thereof.

Responsibilities

Database Maintenance:

Mail Room Management:

RESPONSIBILITIES
Personnel Management:

Student Support:

Address academic integrity issues involving students enrolled in courses offered by the School.

Community Engagement and Representation:

POSITION SUMMARY: The Human Resources Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support across various functions within the HR Department. This position will build and maintain strong working relationships with employees at all levels of the organization, handle sensitive information with confidentiality, and play a crucial role in supporting the HR department. * Assist with data entry and updates in the HRIS system, including new employee setup and changes ensuring accuracy and compliance.
* Process and coordinate employee engagement initiatives and recognition programs, while helping develop new initiatives and programs to enhance employee involvement.
* Manage various employee support processes, including tuition reimbursement requests and handling wage and employment verification requests, ensuring accurate and timely resolution.
* Manage various reporting functions including IPEDs, monthly labor reports, and semi-monthly new hire reports.
* Draft, update, and manage HR communications utilizing various platforms, including content for monthly newsletters, recognition awards, College-wide emails, wellness activities, open enrollment and more, maintaining clear and effective communication.
* Oversee the HR email account, providing timely responses to employee inquiries and escalating complex issues as needed.
* Maintain compliance with employment law postings across all campuses, ensuring federal, state, and local regulations are met.
* Support the continuous improvement of HR processes and projects, as well as office and college-wide events and initiatives as needed, including approved staff training and professional development opportunities.
(35%) Office Support
* Provide comprehensive administrative support to the HR department, including data entry and document management, the upkeep of electronic personnel files, maintaining office supply inventory and the coordination of department mail.
* Deliver exceptional front line office support by responding to calls, communications, and inquiries from staff, students, and the public, ensuring timely resolution of concerns and needs.
* Actively participate in and contribute to department and College-wide meetings. Schedule and coordinate meetings and conference registrations for the Executive Director and Benefits and Human Resources Manager.
* Manage and update content on the HR intranet page (The Bridge) and Lakeshore Benefit Resource website.
* Coordinate the photo ID badge process, ensuring prompt issuance, updates, and replacements for new and existing employees.
(20%) On and Offboarding
* Support employee onboarding processes, ensuring all required documentation, such as employment paperwork and new hire notifications, are completed accurately and on time.
* Responsible for the preparation of essential materials for new and existing employees, including ordering and ensuring timely delivery of name tags, name plates, business cards, etc.
* Coordinate and schedule orientation check-ins at regular intervals with new employees, managers and the Executive Director of HR.
* Manage the offboarding process by assisting with the completion of paperwork, communicating departure information, and overseeing the return of college property.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
* Associate degree from a regionally accredited university or college in a related discipline required.

POSITION SUMMARY: The primary responsibility of the Director of Enrollment Management is to lead the College's Strategic Enrollment Management plan, administer student success action items, and provide leadership for the development and management of the student experience for adult education, English Language Learner, and non-degree seeking and degree-seeking undergraduate students from completed application or initial pathway to credential completion. * Lead the College's Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM) team in setting College enrollment goals by developing, implementing, and monitoring a short and long-range plan that directly impacts the college budget.
* Analyze and communicate enrollment status reports to make SEM plan adjustments.
* Establish and collaborate with internal and external partners, such as K-12, Dual Credit, Recruitment, Instruction, Community-Based Organizations, and Workforce Corporations, to provide leadership in meeting College enrollment goals.
* Utilize data and research to lead, monitor, and collaborate with staff and subject matter experts to determine, improve, and implement processes, services, and systems that support timely and successful student progression and completion.
* Direct the alignment of college systems, such as the Student Information System, Learning Management System, and Student Success System, that support the student experience.
* Responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of assigned student success policies.
* Direct and collaborate on strategic activities and partnerships to provide accessible K-12 and adult guided career pathways that lead to post-secondary degree completion.
* Serve as project lead of WTCS Student Success Center initiatives.

* Develop, direct, implement, and manage program admissions and enrollment strategies, including a comprehensive communication and activities plan that supports successful student enrollment, progression, and completion.
* Lead student supports in collaboration with TRiO, Student Affairs, Student Billing, Financial Aid, Accommodations, Student Engagement, and others.
* Direct and oversee implementation and evaluation of an early alert/referral system by working with faculty and staff to provide timely feedback to students about their academic progress, to identify students whose behaviors indicate a need for student success intervention, and to refer students for academic skills assistance.
* Collaborate with the marketing department and other subject matter experts to ensure promotional materials, web content and other related materials are current and up to date.
* Collaborate with students, faculty, staff, administrators to align and integrate services to improve student success outcomes.

Organizational Function and Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for instruction in the Medical Assistant program at the college level.
