The Food Service Worker position performs a variety of cleaning, maintenance, food preparation, stocking, or serving duties in a commercial hotel food service area. This position will support food service operations at the Kuik Cafe in Bethel, AK at the Qavartarvik Customer Lodge. This is a rotational position in Bethel, AK. The rotation schedule will be 4 weeks on and 4 weeks off. Lodging and three meals per day provided. The point of hire origins are Anchorage, AK at the YKHC Service Area. Assists in the day-to-day operations of the central kitchen and all food service operations including food preparation, cooking and distribution. Daily supervision is provided by the Production Supervisor. Carries out duties in accordance with Agency and program policies and procedures and NYS Department of Health Safety and Sanitation Codes. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists with meeting daily needs at the assigned kitchen; refers problems to Production Supervisor. Performs as an integral member of a work team and completes tasks as needed by the team. Assists in proper storage, care and inventory of food and supplies. Follows dress and sanitation codes. Prepares, cooks, collates and packs various components of the daily meal. Follows agency policies and program regulations. Assists with hot and cold and frozen food prep.
