Ability to develop the blast plan for the job site to maximize blast performance to meet customer requirements. Conduct or participate in blast crew meetings to coordinate responsibilities and address safety protocols. Work with blast crew to verify performance, providing feedback as needed. Review drill logs to verify drill pattern. Load explosives in blast holes by hand, direct drivers to load holes from bulk trucks. Verify completion of pre-blast inspections to ensure a safe blast area and successful detonation. Detonate blast, if blaster-in-charge. Complete all required paperwork, including field blast reports and magazine inventory reports. Communicate with site managers and customers regularly to develop strong partnerships. Additional duties as needed to provide optimal blasting services and efficient site operations. Qualifications 4-5 years blasting experience in the explosives industry. Must be able to exert moderate to heavy physical effort with lifting requirement up to 50 pounds. Blaster Must have strong range of motion. Must be able to sit, stand, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and bend. Must be able to see, speak, and hear. Must be able to read instructions and all measuring devices. Must use fingers and hands to manipulate tools and small parts. Must be able to walk over both even and uneven surfaces. Must be able to work in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold. Must be able to wear appropriate PPE. Must be physically able to access all areas of the plant and grounds. Some aspects of this position may require working in tight quarters. Some aspects of this position may require close vision, depth perception, the ability to see small detail, and the ability to adjust focus.
