Blasting production technicians, commonly referred to as bomb technicians, are specialists trained in explosive devices. Their responsibilities include inspecting, disabling, and securing the disposal of used or defected explosives. They are also trained to operate different kinds of drills. During mineral exploration or soil testing, they use churns and rotaries to tap sub-surface water and salt deposits to remove core samples. In addition, they facilitate the use of explosives in mining or construction.
