The benefits are somewhat okay, health insurance is not great though and only management is eligible for that. Quarterly hourly wage increases happen when sales goals are met for enough days in the quarter, otherwise it's just standard hourly pay. So, basically getting upward of $1.50 more per hour on the next check. Ultimately not very great "benefits"
Like I said in the pros, the benefits are not actual benefits that will actually help you at all in life. In fact, having an inconsistent pay is rather frustrating. Because it means I struggle some months and not quite as much when we get the "bonus".
The people I work with. That's all. The CEO is a massive chauvinist, doesn't let my boss, who is a woman, make any decisions without approval from him directly, or other men in corporate. And when other employees on the East coast tried to unionize, that was shut down quickly, and every other location was visited by goons who tried to bully us into retracting our statements we made on our supposedly anonymous survey. Aka union-busting activities.
I do not like the CEO at all. The managers are mostly okay and do great jobs.
I don't think there is any way at this point. They demand that you just bow to their will, the CEO has literally SCREAMED at people for questioning his decisions.
Like I would for any other job.
Probably standard, doesn't seem like any other art supply store pays more.
The company as a whole portrays itself as being very inclusive, which it can be in certain aspects, but the misogyny is rampant and they refuse to acknowledge it.
Breaks and when people bring in their dogs. The customers rarely are enjoyable.
We were all a great team! Awesome coworkers and good bonuses depending if you meet sales goals as a store.
Your experience will depend on management -- if you have a great manager, you won't have problems. Customers can be cruel.
If you meet sales goals, extra sales go to a bonus pool. If your store does well, you can end up getting dollars more per hour per period. Employee discount is generous too!
A lot of independence in your role.
Lack of growth opportunity within the company because it is small. It is hard to get promoted even when you're already doing the work of a promoted role.
