POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the following:
Delivering and pick-up of blood products and related materials and supplies to and from designated locations.
Maintaining schedules of critical deliveries to the airport for blood shipment, product pick-up from the airport as required and needed transport to the hospitals as requested.
Transporting team members to designated blood drive location, perform required maintenance and stabilization of LifeMobile.
Fulfilling inventory orders from warehouse and helping accounting department with purchasing request.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Drive the designated vehicle for delivery or pick up as needed. Deliver products, materials, and supplies as assigned.
Follow written and oral instructions, asking questions and involving appropriate parties as necessary.
Prioritize and change route with little to no notice depending on needs of the center, mobile drive sites, customers served and airline schedule.
Acknowledge and work to resolve service complaints.
Ensure procurement of empty containers and/or boxes as required.
Follow all procedures required to preserve the quality of the blood product. Maintain a high level of integrity for blood product delivery, pick up and quality control.
Issue or obtain customer signature on receipt or delivery as necessary.
Provide support as needed for building and grounds maintenance, repair and overall janitorial duties as assigned.
Fill in as Coach Driver as needed, providing safe transport of the BBA LifeMobile and all associated equipment to designated site.
Provide safe transportation via BBA LifeMobile of mobile team members to different locations throughout the state as scheduled to do.
Ensure that all necessary maintenance/upkeep is completed for BBA vehicles. Perform appropriate pre-inspection of vehicle(s) prior to departure.
Perform all duties in compliance with applicable regulatory agencies (OSHA, DOT, cGMP standards)
Overnight/out of town travel as scheduled.
Ensure warehouse orders are filled and supplies are sent to designated locations.
Receive supplies into warehouse following establish procedures.
Work closely with purchasing to obtain and maintain supply inventory levels.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Current Alaska Drivers License. Must currently have or must be able to obtain a Class B CDL within 90 days of hire.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Potential hazard due to exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials. The Blood Bank of Alaska follows OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standards in the workplace. BBA provides vaccination for Hepatitis B if desired and provides for personal protective equipment as needed for the position. Hours of work will vary according to the schedule of blood drives. May be required to work an irregular schedule, with some long hours on occasion.

Contacting blood donors by telephone to encourage and schedule additional blood donations, inform donors about new blood related medical issues, and respond to questions.

**Qualifications:**

POSITION SUMMARY
Do you ever wonder what happens to blood after it is donated? This entry level position is responsible for preparing blood components in a laboratory manufacturing environment and shipping blood to hospital customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Preparing blood components from whole blood following standard operating procedure.
Work with a team to ensure 24/7/365 coverage in meeting the blood needs for multiple hospitals throughout Alaska.
Providing exceptional customer service to include answering the phones, document orders, select appropriate products, pack, ship, and receive blood products to and from customers in Alaska and the lower 48. This often requires working with couriers or airlines.
Maintaining and performing quality control of procedures and equipment. This will include, but not limited to, temperature monitoring, thermometer checks, alarm checks, and shipping container validation.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Ability to follow written procedure; witting must be legible and recording of product information must be exact.
Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational and computer skills; ability to prioritize workflow to optimize products manufactured.
Must be able to maintain a calm demeanor when stressed; make responsible decisions and obtain assistance if needed.
Must maintain a high standard for conscientious, courteous, and enthusiastic service to internal and external customers, and the public in general.

**Position Overview** **- Medical** **Science Liaison** **(Senior Manager)**
As an integral member of the ecosystem team for Otsuka's new ecosystem-based customer engagement model, the Medical Science Liaison (MSL), Sr Mgr contributes to the development of the ecosystem strategic business plan and identifies key stakeholders that are vital to the ecosystem.
The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a credible partner responsible for providing clinical, scientific and health economic information related to disease states and the appropriate utilization of approved Otsuka products within an ecosystem. This field-based position will engage with Key Influencers (KIs), Local Practice Leaders (LPLs), healthcare providers, and patients' groups within their ecosystem, to further patient outcomes aligned with the overarching objectives of Otsuka. In collaboration with their ecosystem partners, CSLs contribute to the customization of the region business strategy to meet local ecosystem needs and are responsible for the medical and educational requirements of their customers. In addition, CSLs may be responsible for covering multiple products within a therapeutic area, as well as engaging in broad clinical and scientific discussions that impact patient care, resulting in rich customer insights shared within the ecosystem.

**Key Activities and Responsibilities**
+ As part of the ecosystem team contributes a clinical and scientific perspective to the local execution plan that addresses ecosystem, and customer challenges, issues, and opportunities, to bring about improved patient care and outcomes. This extends to include coordination around execution of field activities.
+ Build, cultivate, and leverage external relationships with key scientific and medical customers and organizations within their ecosystem to ensure strong understanding of evolving healthcare trends, disease state, Otsuka products, systems, and services across the ecosystem landscape, including KIs, LPLs, Key Decision Makers (KDMs) and Patient Advocacy.
+ Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the ecosystem to ensure alignment with Otsuka's patient-centric strategy and priorities, including provision and delivery of optimal patient care.
+ To be a credible source of evidence-based information that demonstrates the value of Otsuka and its products from the clinical, economic, and humanistic standpoint and works in partnership with providers, payers, and other key stakeholders to apply practical real-world solutions to improve patient outcomes.
+ Build and cultivate important internal working relationships across the matrix team to ensure an enterprise approach when working with customers. Be accountable to regional Field Medical Affairs leadership to shape and execute on local medical strategies within planned timelines.
+ Actively contribute to planning, content development, and dissemination of disease state information to customers in the field on a regular basis using the remote customer engagement platform.
+ Disseminate disease state and healthcare landscape information to customers in the field on a regular basis utilizing remote customer engagement platform.
+ Responsible for delivering the training and evaluation of promotional and disease state speakers.
+ Serve as part of Otsuka's internal speaker bureau in support of product educational needs across the ecosystem.
+ Collect and submit medical insights that drive decision making and prioritization of evidence generation efforts and healthcare solutions, including sharing at the local ecosystem level.
+ Assist with Otsuka's clinical trials program, including registrational, post-marketing and Investigator-Sponsored Trials (ISTs), health economic outcomes research, other specific medical collaborations; provide clinical expertise and feedback regarding operational management of clinical trials to ensure optimal site selection and performance.
+ Support other areas of the organization including Safety & Pharmacovigilance for investigation of safety-related issues, Sales Training medical education on an ongoing basis including new hire and POAs, and the Field Medical Center of Excellence for mentoring and sharing of best practices.
**Qualifications**
+ Advanced degree in Pharmacy, Medicine, Biological Sciences, Health Services Research or Public Health, (PharmD., M.D., PhD. or D.Ph.) is required.
+ Relevant therapeutic area knowledge is required.
+ Understanding of the interconnectivity of health systems, overall delivery of patient care and experience working with healthcare professionals and other decision makers.
+ Minimum of 3-5 years related work experience (clinical, health system or industry)

POSITION SUMMARY
Blood Bank of Alaska (BBA) is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Systems and Software Specialist at our main campus in Anchorage, AK. For this full-time position, you will be a key member of the Quality Assurance team, providing the blood bank with essential support for quality processes and assessments. The Quality Systems and Software Specialist at the Blood Bank of Alaska (BBA) is responsible for promoting regulatory compliance, managing the occurrence program, and administering the Blood Establishment Computer System (BECS) and other software. Key duties include conducting investigations, performing audits, supporting external inspections, managing procedures and records, and providing software training.
This position will be responsible for:
Promote organizational compliance with accrediting agency, state, and federal regulations

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform duties in compliance with all applicable regulatory and accrediting agencies. Ensure OSHA regulations
and cGMPs are adhered to.
Perform occurrence investigations including Occurrence Reports (ORs), Post Donation Information (PDI),
Biological Product Deviation Reports (BPDRs), and Quarantine and Lookback (Q&LB) for positive test results.
Assist with the review, compilation, and submission of FDA reports, correspondence, product licensing, etc.
Develop operational audit plans, perform audits, write audit reports, and issue audit findings to department
management. Audits will include: blood center processes, procedures, work areas, electronic records, and
documents.
Provide support during external agency inspections (FDA, AABB, etc.).
Facilitate changes to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). This may include writing and updating policies,
processes, and procedures.
Manage record retention process and record storage areas.
Administrate BBAs Blood Establishment Computer System (BECS) and other applicable software programs.
Provide customer service to BBAs software users.
Manage and perform software configuration changes, upgrades, and validations where applicable.
Maintain positive communication with all departments. Promote a positive work environment in which staff work
cooperatively toward objectives.
Exhibit support of BBAs values, mission statement, quality objectives, and customer service standards at all
times.
Perform other duties as assigned and qualified to do.

POSITION SUMMARY

Primary Donor Screening Responsibilities:
Register potential blood donors using the BECS program.
Review Donor History Forms (DHF) for completeness; evaluates donors medical history for suitability as a blood donor. Consults with RN/Medical Director as indicated.
Takes vital signs; performs finger stick for hematocrit.
Performs confidential interview with donors; instructs the donor regarding the Interview Response Section (IRS) of the DHF and in Life Trak.
Ensures that the donor has read and understands the pre-post donation instructions.
Performs daily, monthly and quarterly quality control procedures per standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Serves as a resource for donor inquiries.
Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
Restocks supply items necessary for donor screening.
Considers all blood donor and personnel information confidential.
Represents the Blood Bank of Alaska (BBAK) in a professional manner at all times.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Primary Phlebotomy Responsibilities:
Performs phlebotomy procedures on blood donors according to SOPs and as trained and qualified to perform.
Maintains aseptic work area; sterilizes instruments per SOP.
Restocks supply items necessary for phlebotomy procedures.
Performs quality control procedures per SOP.
Considers all blood donor and personnel information confidential.
Primary Team Member Responsibilities:
Participates as an active member of the team by positively communicating with the Team Leads and the Collections Manager.

Perform screenings and phlebotomy of blood donors. Includes taking vitals, asking health history questions to donors, and performing collection of blood.
POSITION SUMMARY
This position will be responsible for:
Daily operational collection functions to include donor recruitment and donor registration, screening and phlebotomy.
Ensuring a safe, professional and pleasant procedure for every donor with a focus on customer service and producing a quality blood product in a timely manner.
This position has the potential to cross train into the area of component processing procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Donor Services Technician will register potential blood donors either at the facility or on a mobile drive, as necessary and trained to perform.
Reviews Donor History Forms (DHF) for completeness; evaluates donors medical history for suitability as a blood donor. Consults with RN/Medical Director as needed.
Responsible for performing vital sign checks and finger stick for hematocrit. Performs confidential interview with donors.
Verifies that the donor has read and understands the pre-post donation instructions and AIDS information sheet.
Appropriately labels specimen tubes and blood donation bag system according to the type of donation.
Completes donation procedure per standard operating procedures; observes donor for any adverse reaction; treats adverse reaction per SOP if one should occur.
Must maintain proficiency in all areas of donor processing.
Recruit and schedule potential blood donors as necessary and trained to perform.
Performs daily, monthly and quarterly quality control procedures per standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Maintain open and positive communication with appropriate supervisors and support services departments.
Perform duties in compliance with all applicable regulatory and accrediting agencies. Ensure OSHA regulations and cGMP are adhered to.
Work cooperatively with all staff to ensure a quality product and a focus on exceptional customer service.
Maintain donor and employee confidentiality.
Follows all pertinent SOPs that relate to this position; will document required information on appropriate records as needed.
May be required to perform in other roles as trained and competent to do. This position has the potential to cross train into the following areas: Preparing standard and special blood components following SOPs, Blood Product Distribution, Blood Inventory Maintenance.
Resolve customer complaints/issues immediately, using appropriate support departments as needed.
Exhibits support of BBA values, quality objectives, and customer service standards at all times.
Help maintain positive image of BBA throughout the community and State of Alaska while maintaining overall corporate image.
