Position Summary
Under direct supervision by department leadership, performs phlebotomy collection of whole blood and apheresis products. Interacts with donors and coordinators, providing a high level of customer service to deliver an excellent donation experience. Takes pride in and is committed to delivering high quality services. Works cooperatively and is a supportive member of the team/group. Contributes positively to the achievement of team objectives. Responsible for driving the mobile drive vehicle and transporting the mobile staff in a safe and efficient manner.
Schedule:
Must have availability from 4:00am-10:00pm, including weekends and holidays

Responsibilities
With a valid CDL, may operate mobile drive buses. Following all DOT guidelines, safely transports staff, supplies and equipment and arrives at site on time.
Understands and performs to all applicable regulatory and compliance requirements.

Recruits and converts donors for automation.
May prepare and pack units for transport.
Observes donors for reactions, provides reaction care and assists other staff in handling reactions if needed.
May provide post-reaction care at mobile drives including assessing reactions for recovery, escorting donors and serving as liaison to coordinate care with host organization (e.g. high school nurse, drive coordinator.
Rebooks donors for future donation appointments.
Travels to other local collection sites, as determined by business need.
Requires evening, weekend and holiday work hours.
Creates a safe environment for donors and staff members.
Operates and performs routine maintenance on equipment including troubleshooting.
Maintains product integrity and ensures proper identification of all donors.
Completes department records and maintains organization, as needed.
May participate in validation of new processes or new equipment.
Reviews daily work for accuracy and recognizes unexpected results, resolving where appropriate.

Essential Duties
Make a difference in the lives of our residents by providing 5-star customer service!
Inspects vehicle to ensure operating safely and within legal guidelines weekly and/or prior to all extended trips. Inspects interior of vehicle following trips to ensure personal belongings of passengers are not left behind.
Keeps vehicle in proper working condition; completes Preventative Maintenance services, checks and replenishes the gas, oil, and fluids, replaces oil filters, spark plugs, changes tires, windshield wipers; washes and cleans exterior and interior of vehicles. Keeps plant director informed of any mechanical problems.

Valid CDL with no more than 6 points.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience driving a commercial bus and experience with the elderly preferred.
Must drive in a safe and courteous manner.
Prefer comprehensive knowledge of Columbus Metro area.

Responsibilities
Safely operate an 8 axle low boy and similar equipment
Properly track and document activity log
Inspect truck and trailer before and after trip
Report any issues or incidents to dispatch
Safe and skilled maneuverability and backing
Ability to calculate weights of equipment with truck/trailer combo to stay within DOT permitting restrictions and guidelines
Knowledge of FMCSA cargo securement rules and regulations
Communicate with dispatchers, other drivers and customers in a professional manor
Physical Demands
Frequent physical effort, including standing, is required during a regular work shift of at least eight hours per day. Employee must be able to stand for extended periods of time, and to stoop, bend, and crouch as required to perform Key Duties.
Frequently work with hands extended overhead, sometimes in conjunction with the operation of load binding devices.
Ability to lift, on a frequent basis, at least 50 pounds and carry at least 30 pounds personally, and up to 150 pounds with assistance.
Manual dexterity to secure cargo utilizing chains and load binding devices on equipment
Maintain constant alertness to the multiple concurrent activities of the construction site, including the activities of other employees and contractors, the operation of stationary equipment, and the movement of mobile equipment.
Frequently walk on uneven surfaces, including natural ground in varying weather conditions.
Work Environment
Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions.
Work environment periodically exposes the employees to high levels of noise, grease, and dust that is typically associated with a construction project.
Employee regularly works near heavy equipment and moving machinery.
Work involves close proximity to high traffic areas , both in and out of construction zones
Work may involve a variety of substances commonly found on construction sites such as form oil, grease, curing compounds, gasoline, diesel fuel and ready mixed concrete.
